AI workforce for Logistics Operations

AI agents for operations teams in logistics

Actionist is an AI automation tool whose agents operate the apps your logistics operations team already uses, from logging into a dozen carrier portals by hand to an agent that flags the exception first.

Dispatch teams get back the hours lost to portal checks, carrier chasing, and the exception scramble.

Where you spend your time

Why Logistics Operations teams switch

We know how your week actually goes

What matters to you
  • The load board stays current
Every carrier portal is polled on a schedule, so the board reflects reality without ten separate logins.
  • Exceptions caught before the call
A delay, damage alert, or missed pickup is flagged in about a minute, with an alternate carrier drafted for approval.
  • Carriers chased without the phone tag
Loads are tendered to the right carriers, acceptance is chased, and the scorecard tracks who hits the window.
  • Dock windows booked, not scrambled
Pickup and delivery appointments are confirmed and detention clocks are watched before a truck sits idling.
  • Compliance never catches you blind
Carrier insurance, authority, and hours-of-service status are checked before a load goes out, not after.
  • Built around your dispatch desk
These are examples of what a logistics operations agent can do. Build a custom agent for what your desk repeats.

And hundreds of other tasks you do manually..

An agent can take a lot off your team's plate. Take a look below to see the time and cost you could save by adding AI agents to your Logistics Operations team's day.

The problem

Where the hours go

  • Keeping the load board current means logging into a dozen separate carrier portals one at a time, copying each tracking milestone into the tracking sheet by hand, and hoping nothing was missed since the last check.

An agent polls every carrier portal and tracking feed on a schedule, logs each milestone against the load record, and posts a current status board to the dispatch channel without anyone opening a single portal.

  • By the time someone spots a delay, damage alert, or missed pickup buried in a tracking feed, the shipper has usually already called asking where their freight is.

An agent flags the exception within about a minute of it appearing, identifies the nearest alternate carrier and a revised ETA, and drafts the re-route plan so dispatch reviews a ready decision instead of starting from a blank sheet.

  • Tendering a load means calling or messaging carriers one by one, chasing an acceptance that never comes back fast enough, and losing track of who actually confirmed the lane.

An agent tenders the load to the right carriers, tracks acceptance as it comes in on the tracker, and chases anyone who has not responded within the window you set, so the lane is booked before the pickup window closes.

  • Dock appointments get booked in a scramble, detention clocks run unwatched, and a truck sits idling in the yard because no one checked whether the warehouse had a slot open.

An agent books the pickup and delivery appointment as soon as the load is confirmed, tracks the detention and demurrage clock against the appointment time, and flags any window at risk before the truck arrives.

Triggers

Your Agent wakes up Automatically whenever something happens

Your agents watch the apps you already use and act the moment something happens, usually within about a minute, handle it based on your instructions, 24/7.

WhenA load misses an expected tracking scan on its routefires within about a minute
The agent automatically

When the scheduled tracking poll finds a load has gone longer than usual without a new scan against its route plan, the agent flags it as a potential exception within about a minute, checks the last known location against the delivery window, and posts it to the dispatch channel so someone can call the driver or the carrier before the load is genuinely late.

What your agent runs for you

  • Logistics Operations
    200 min / week
    Keeping the load board current

A dispatcher logs into each carrier's portal one at a time, copies the latest scan into the tracking sheet by hand, and hopes nothing was missed between checks.

    Logistics Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent polls every portal and logs each milestone

An agent polls every carrier portal and tracking feed on a schedule, logs each milestone against the load record, and posts the current board to the dispatch channel.

  • Logistics Operations
    120 min / week
Finding an alternate carrier after a delay

By the time someone spots a delay in the tracking feed, they start from a blank sheet searching for a carrier with capacity on that lane, often after the shipper has already called.

    Logistics Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent flags it and drafts the re-route plan

An agent flags the exception within about a minute, identifies the nearest alternate carrier and a revised ETA, and drafts the re-route plan for the dispatcher's approval.

  • Logistics Operations
    150 min / week
    Tendering a load to carriers

A dispatcher calls or messages carriers one by one down the approved list, losing track of who actually accepted and chasing anyone who has gone quiet.

    Logistics Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent tenders and chases acceptance automatically

An agent tenders the load to the right carriers in rate order, tracks each acceptance as it comes in, and moves it to the next carrier if there is no response inside the window.

  • Logistics Operations
    100 min / week
    Booking pickup and delivery appointments

Someone calls each warehouse and consignee dock to find an open window, often after the truck is already loaded and waiting for a slot no one has confirmed.

    Logistics Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent books the window as soon as the load is confirmed

An agent books the appointment the moment a load is confirmed and flags any window the truck cannot realistically make before the truck ever leaves the yard.

  • Logistics Operations
    90 min / week
    Checking carrier compliance expiry dates

Someone has to remember to manually scroll the compliance tracker comparing each carrier's insurance and authority dates against today, which is why lapses get caught late.

    Logistics Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent flags expiring documents 30 days out

An agent checks every active carrier's insurance and authority against its expiry date, flags anything inside a 30-day window, and drafts the renewal request for approval.

Trust & control

You stay in control

An agent touching your load board, your carrier relationships, and your compliance file only earns a place in dispatch if you stay in control. Actionist is built so you see everything it read, approve anything a carrier or customer will see, and own every record it creates.

Re-routes wait for your sign-off

A re-route plan, a tender, and a carrier chase are drafted first and held for approval before anything reaches a carrier or a customer, unless you widen that autonomy yourself through Approval Modes.

Compliance decisions stay yours

The agent flags an expiring certificate or a driver short on hours; it never decides to hold a load off the board or clear a carrier for dispatch. That call stays with your compliance lead.

Full audit trail of every record touched

Every milestone logged, every tender sent, and every re-route drafted is recorded in a timestamped log, so you can always see exactly what an agent read and changed on any load.

Your carrier and shipment data stays yours

Carrier rates, insurance details, and shipment records are encrypted and never used to train any model. Self-host on a VPS if your operation needs everything on its own infrastructure.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

We run carrier portals and a TMS with no public API. Will an agent still work with those?
Almost certainly. Actionist operates your tools the way a dispatcher does, by reading the screen and clicking, typing, and navigating, so it reaches carrier portal back-offices, legacy TMS software, and load board platforms that have no API at all. Where a tool offers a clean connection the agent uses it; where it does not, the desktop agent works the screen the same way your team already does. Screen automation runs on the desktop app.
Will the agent tender a load or send a carrier message without a dispatcher seeing it first?
Not unless you decide it should. By default every tender, re-route plan, and carrier chase is drafted and waits for a dispatcher's approval before it goes out. Approval Modes let you move at your own pace, from suggest, to ask each time, to guarded auto for the routine jobs you trust, and anything irreversible always asks first. Agents reach you on Telegram or Slack, so you can approve or reword from wherever you are.
Does my dispatch team need to be technical to set this up?
No. You describe the job in plain language, the way you would brief a new dispatcher: which carrier portals to check, how to rank an exception, who approves a re-route. There is no code to write and no API keys to manage for most tools, because the agent operates the apps the way a person does.
How do I get started?
Book a free demo and an Actionist team member will walk through your busiest tracking or exception workload with you, show you how an agent would handle it, and set up a working example against a real load. Most operations teams have their first agent running within a day of the demo.
How do I make a customised AI agent for a job specific to our lanes?
You describe the agent's role, the apps it should use, and your approval rules for each type of action. For a re-route agent, you tell it which carriers are approved alternates for a given lane and who signs off on a re-route. The agent applies that logic every time it runs, and you adjust the rules as your network changes.
How quickly can I set Actionist up for logistics ops?
A basic tracking agent, one that polls a carrier portal and posts the load board to Slack, can be running within hours of your demo. A full exception-and-re-route workflow spanning several tools typically takes one to three days of iteration to get right, tested against a quiet lane before it touches your live board.
What happens with exceptions overnight or over a weekend?
On the desktop app an agent works while the app is open. To cover overnight and weekend exceptions unattended, you move that agent to the hosted cloud runtime on a paid plan and it keeps polling tracking feeds and flagging exceptions while your desktop is off. You stay in approval mode either way, so nothing reaches a carrier or customer without the sign-off you have set.
How does the agent handle a compliance question during a DOT audit, like calling a carrier for a document?
It does not make calls. The agent reads carrier records, emails, and uploaded documents, and it can read call logs or voicemail transcripts from a connected system like RingCentral or Dialpad if you use one, but it never answers, takes, or makes a phone call itself. Chasing a missing document by phone stays with your team; the agent handles the paperwork trail around it.
Is our carrier and shipment data kept private?
Your data stays yours. Carrier rates, insurance details, and shipment records are encrypted and never used to train any model. Every action an agent takes is logged step by step so you can see exactly what it read and changed on any load. If your operation needs everything on its own infrastructure, you can self-host Actionist on your own server.
