AI workforce for IT Services IT

AI agents for IT teams in IT services

Actionist is an AI automation tool whose agents operate the RMM, backup and tenant consoles your MSP engineers already use, from opening a console per client each morning to a ranked exception list waiting for review.

Patch, backup and detection exceptions across every client fleet, ranked before the first engineer opens a console.

Where you spend your time

Why IT Services IT teams switch

We know how your week actually goes

What matters to you
  • Patch cycles closed, not just started
Devices that missed the update or sit on a pending reboot are named per client.
  • Backups proven, not assumed
A green job is checked against its restore points, and test restores leave evidence.
  • An asset register that matches the network
Agents in the RMM and records in the PSA agree, with warranty dates attached.
  • Client tenants kept tidy
MFA gaps, stale guests, admin roles and forwarding rules surface on a schedule.
  • Detections turned into tickets
Every EDR alert is matched to a device and user before an engineer decides.
  • New starters ready on day one
Device requests are checked against stock and the build checklist before they slip.

And hundreds of other tasks you do manually..

An agent can take a lot off your team's plate. Take a look below to see the time and cost you could save by adding AI agents to your IT Services IT team's day.

The problem

Where the hours go

  • Patch Tuesday ends with a long list of devices that updated and never restarted, and chasing those users one by one is what pushes each client's compliance figure below target.

An agent reads each client's RMM after every cycle, names the devices stuck on a reboot or a failed update, and drafts the nudge to each user for you to approve.

  • A backup job turns green after a retry while the newest restore point is three days old, so the failure only shows up when a client asks for a file back.

An agent compares each job's result with its newest restore point every morning, ranks the stale and repeat failures, and files the ticket with the evidence attached.

  • The asset register says one thing and the RMM says another, so warranty dates lapse, dead laptops stay on the bill and nobody knows which machines cannot take Windows 11.

An agent reconciles the RMM against the PSA each week, logs the mismatches, and builds the refresh shortlist with warranty end dates already looked up.

  • Nobody has time to open every client tenant to check who lacks MFA or which guests still have access, so the gaps are found after an incident, not before.

An agent walks the tenants on a schedule, lists the MFA gaps, stale guests and unexpected forwarding rules, and posts one hygiene report per client.

Triggers

Your Agent wakes up Automatically whenever something happens

Your agents watch the apps you already use and act the moment something happens, usually within about a minute, handle it based on your instructions, 24/7.

WhenA client's backup job fails for the third run in a rowfires within about a minute
The agent automatically

Within about a minute of the third failed result appearing in the RMM, the agent reads the job log, checks the PSA for an existing ticket, and drafts one properly described ticket instead of three alerts. It adds the last good restore point, so the engineer sees the real exposure. The drafted client notice waits for your approval.

Trust & control

You stay in control

An agent that reads client consoles and security detections earns its place only if an engineer can see what it touched and decide what happens next. Actionist keeps every client message as a draft until you approve it and logs each check it runs.

Client notices wait for an engineer

Reboot nudges, backup failure notices and handover emails are drafted for review. Nothing goes to a client contact until you approve it.

The agent prepares, an engineer decides

It ranks detections, lists exceptions and drafts tickets. Whether a device is isolated, an account is disabled or a client is told is your call.

Destructive actions always ask first

Wiping a device, resetting a password or removing an account stops for explicit approval, whatever autonomy you set for lower risk steps.

Client data stays under your control

Device, tenant and detection data is encrypted, never used to train models, and every read and write is logged. You can self-host on your own VPS.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does my MSP's technical team need to write code to use AI agents for IT teams?
No. You describe the check in plain words, such as which backup consoles to read and what counts as stale, and connect the tools you already use. Your engineers coach the agent the way they would train a new junior technician, correcting its first few ranked lists until it matches how you work.
How do I get started with Actionist on a patch and backup routine?
Book a free demo and bring one routine that eats your mornings, usually the backup review or the post-Patch Tuesday chase. The team sets up a working example against your RMM or a sample client so you can see the ranked exception list before deciding anything.
How do I build a customised AI agent for how our fleet checks actually run?
You describe the agent's job, the consoles it reads and the approval rules for each action. For backups you say which jobs, how old a restore point may be and who gets the ticket. The agent applies those rules each run and you adjust them as your standards change.
How quickly can I set Actionist up for our client fleet?
A first agent that reads backup results and logs a ranked exception list can be running within a day of your demo. Routines that span several tools, such as the asset reconciliation, usually take a few days of tuning against real data, tested on one client before the rest.
Is client device, tenant and detection data safe with Actionist?
Your client data stays yours. Everything the agent reads and writes is encrypted, none of it trains any AI model, and every action is logged so you can show a client or an auditor exactly what was checked. If your contracts require it, you can self-host Actionist on your own VPS.
What about RMM, backup and EDR consoles that have no API?
Actionist uses computer use in the cloud: the agent opens the console the way an engineer would, reads what is on the screen and records the result. That covers vendor portals and older backup consoles with no API. Computer use runs in the cloud, so it needs a machine logged in to those consoles.
Will the agent isolate a device, reset a password or message a client without me?
No, not by default. It prepares: the exception list, the ticket and the drafted notice. Anything sent to a client contact waits for your approval, and destructive steps such as isolating a device, wiping a laptop or disabling an account always stop for explicit confirmation, whatever autonomy you set elsewhere.
Can it tell a failed backup that matters from a warning that does not?
It applies the rules you give it. A warning on a non-critical file share can be filed as low priority, while a green job with a three day old restore point is ranked high. It shows its reasoning on each line, and an engineer decides what counts as acceptable for each client.
How does it cope with clients that all use different patch rings and tools?
You record each client's patch ring, maintenance window and target once, and the agent reads against that profile. A client on Intune rings and one on a WSUS schedule get separate expectations, so each exception list reflects that client's agreement and not a single global rule.
