Inbound lead enrolled in sequence within a minute

When a prospect fills in the website demo request form, the agent creates a Crono contact with all form fields populated, deduplicates against existing records using Search Contacts, enrolls the contact in the ICP fast-track sequence, and creates a deal in the appropriate pipeline — all within about a minute of form submission, before any SDR even opens their inbox.

  • Marketing

  • Customer Support
    25 min / week

  • Human Resources

  • Operations

    Manual CRM data quality audits

Sales ops manually scans Crono each week for contacts missing email or company, sends chase emails to reps, and tracks completion in a separate spreadsheet — an hour of admin that repeats every Monday.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent sweeps for data gaps and creates tasks automatically

The operations agent searches Crono for every incomplete record, creates a specific data-quality task for the owning rep, and posts the health score to Slack — the full audit runs in minutes.

  • Legal
    20 min / week
Manual opt-out and consent compliance tracking

The legal team manually searches Crono for opt-outs each week, then contacts sales ops to remove the contacts from sequences, then updates the compliance register — a process that can take half a day.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
Agent removes opt-outs and logs compliance notes automatically

The legal agent searches for opt-outs, stops all sequences for each contact, logs the compliance action as a note, and posts the weekly digest — complete before the first outbound email of the week goes out.

FAQs

Questions about Crono + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to Crono?
Go to the Apps tab in Actionist, find Crono, and click Connect. You will need your Crono API Key and API Secret, which you can find in Crono under Settings > Integrations > API. Paste both values into Actionist and click Test connection — Actionist makes a read-only call to the Crono Users endpoint to verify the credentials before any actions run.
What data can Actionist read and write in Crono?
Actionist can read and write contacts, companies, deals, notes, tasks, and sequences. It can also read pipelines, users, lists, and import records. Write operations include creating contacts, companies, deals, notes, and tasks; updating contacts; enrolling contacts in sequences; and stopping sequences for specific contacts. All operations use the Crono Public API.
Can Actionist enroll contacts into Crono sequences automatically?
Yes. The Add Contacts to Sequence action enrolls one or more contacts into any active Crono sequence. You can configure your agent to enroll contacts based on events from other apps — for example, when an inbound form is submitted, when an event attendee list is uploaded, or when a contact reaches a specific stage. The agent can also use Search Sequences to find the right sequence for a given persona before enrolling.
How does Actionist prevent a contact from receiving an automated email after they reply?
When your Gmail or inbox connection detects an inbound email from a known prospect, the agent can search for the matching Crono contact and immediately call Stop Contact Sequence to halt all automated touchpoints. This happens within about a minute of the reply arriving — before the next sequence step is scheduled to send. The agent also creates a follow-up task for the SDR so the live conversation is handled personally.
Can Actionist import a bulk contact list into Crono?
Yes. The Import Contacts action sends a batch of contact records to Crono in a single API call. Before importing, your agent can use Search Contacts to deduplicate against existing records by email address so no duplicates are created. This is useful for post-event attendee lists, partner-supplied lead lists, or any CSV-based prospecting batch.
Does Actionist work with Crono's custom properties?
Yes. The Create Contact and Update Contact actions support custom fields defined in your Crono account. You can also use the Search Contacts and Get Contact actions to retrieve and act on custom property values. For discovering what custom properties exist in your account, the Search External Properties action returns all configured custom field definitions.
Can Actionist help with GDPR and opt-out compliance in Crono?
Actionist can search Crono for contacts flagged with opt-out or data-request tags, call Stop Contact Sequence to halt outreach for opted-out contacts, and log a compliance note on each affected record. This means your agent can run a weekly opt-out sweep, process data-access requests, and document every compliance action automatically — reducing the manual audit work for your legal and ops teams.
How does Actionist keep the Crono pipeline data accurate for forecasting?
The Finance Agent can retrieve all open deals from Crono on a weekly schedule, apply your stage-weighted forecast model, and write the results directly to your forecast spreadsheet in Google Sheets. It can also flag commit-stage deals missing required fields (close date, value, linked contact) and create validation tasks for the deal owner before your weekly forecast call — so the numbers the finance team reviews are always complete.
