CRMSalesMarketingSocialAnalyticsLead Generation

LinkedIn Ads is the B2B advertising platform that puts sponsored content, Lead Gen Forms, and Matched Audiences in front of professionals by job title, company, industry, and seniority. Connect it to Actionist and your agents can route Lead Gen Form responses to your CRM within about a minute of submission, keep Matched Audiences in sync with your pipeline, send offline conversion events back to Campaign Manager to track true ROAS, and pull performance reports into Google Sheets on a schedule — all without logging into Campaign Manager.

LinkedIn lead routed to CRM and rep within about a minute

When a prospect submits a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form on a sponsored ad, the agent creates a HubSpot contact and deal, assigns the rep by territory, fires a Slack DM with the lead's details, and drops a 24-hour follow-up reminder on the calendar. The rep has everything they need to make first contact while the prospect is still warm.

What your team gets back — two angles: what you stop doing manually, and what that's worth.

What you do manually today

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    60 min / week
Manual CSV export and CRM entry

Reps download LinkedIn form responses as a CSV, manually paste each contact into the CRM, and assign deals — hours after the lead submitted their information.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
Agent routes lead to CRM within about a minute

Within about a minute of a form submission, the agent creates a HubSpot contact, assigns the rep, and fires a Slack alert with the prospect's details.

  • Marketing
    90 min / week
    Weekly manual audience upload

Marketing exports CRM segments weekly, reformats them as CSVs, uploads to LinkedIn Matched Audiences, and waits 24-48 hours for the audience to activate.

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
Agent syncs audience membership with CRM pipeline

Every time a deal stage changes, the agent adds or removes the contact from the matching LinkedIn audience — retargeting stays aligned with the pipeline in near real time.

  • Customer Support
    20 min / week
    Manual suppression after customer complaint

Churned customers often see acquisition ads for weeks before someone notices and manually removes them from the LinkedIn audience list.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
Agent removes churned contacts from audiences within about a minute

When a support ticket marks a customer as churned, the agent removes their email from every active LinkedIn audience so they stop seeing acquisition ads.

  • Human Resources
    40 min / week
    Manual candidate data entry

Recruiters check LinkedIn Campaign Manager for form responses, copy each candidate's details manually into the ATS, and send follow-up emails by hand.

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
Agent routes talent leads to ATS automatically

When a LinkedIn job content form response arrives, the agent creates the candidate in the ATS with source attribution and notifies the recruiting manager in Slack.

  • Finance
    45 min / week
No offline conversion data in Campaign Manager

Finance has no way to see LinkedIn's contribution to revenue — Campaign Manager shows only top-of-funnel events, so ad ROI is consistently understated.

    Finance Agent
    0 min
Agent sends closed-won revenue to LinkedIn for ROAS tracking

When a deal closes, the agent sends the deal value as a conversion event to LinkedIn so Campaign Manager reflects real revenue attribution, not just form fills.

  • Operations
    60 min / week
    Manual Campaign Manager report export

Someone logs into Campaign Manager each week, selects the right date range and metrics, exports a CSV, reformats it in Google Sheets, and pastes numbers into the Slack update.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent generates and distributes reports on a schedule

Every Monday the agent creates a LinkedIn Ads report, writes the data to Google Sheets, and posts a digest to Slack — no one opens Campaign Manager to build the weekly review.

  • Legal
    30 min / week
    Periodic manual suppression batch uploads

Legal collects suppression requests manually, batches them monthly, uploads a CSV to LinkedIn, and hopes the audience update propagates before the next ad impression.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
Agent applies opt-outs to LinkedIn within about a minute

Email unsubscribes and GDPR deletion requests trigger audience removal from all active LinkedIn segments within about a minute, with each action logged to the compliance record.

FAQs

Questions about LinkedIn Ads + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to LinkedIn Ads?
Go to the Apps tab, find LinkedIn Ads, and click Connect. Actionist opens a LinkedIn OAuth window where you sign in and grant permission to your ad accounts, lead gen forms, and audience lists. Once you authorise the connection, Actionist runs a test call to confirm access before any agent actions run. Only ad accounts where you have Campaign Manager access will be available.
What permissions does the agent need on my LinkedIn Ads account?
Your connected LinkedIn account needs Campaign Manager access on the ad accounts you want to automate. For audience management (Add Contact to Audience, Add Company to Audience, Remove Email from Audience) you need at least Analyst or Campaign Manager role. For sending conversion events and creating reports you also need Campaign Manager. Actionist inherits exactly the permissions your LinkedIn account holds — it cannot exceed what you have in Campaign Manager.
Can I connect LinkedIn Ads to my CRM in the same agent task?
Yes. LinkedIn Ads is most powerful when combined with your CRM or marketing automation platform. Common combinations: when a new lead submits a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form, the agent adds them to HubSpot or Salesforce and sends a Slack notification to the sales team; when a prospect reaches a deal stage in Pipedrive, the agent adds their company to a LinkedIn Matched Audience for retargeting; when a contact is marked as a customer in your CRM, the agent sends a conversion event back to LinkedIn to close the attribution loop.
How quickly does Actionist pick up new LinkedIn Lead Gen Form responses?
LinkedIn Lead Gen Form responses become available for polling within about a minute of submission. Actionist's agent polls the LinkedIn API on a schedule and picks up new responses from sponsored content or organic company page forms. The response includes the submitter's name, email, job title, company, and any custom fields you configured on the form. Actionist then routes that data to your CRM, email platform, or any downstream app in the same task.
What data does Actionist send when adding someone to a LinkedIn Matched Audience?
LinkedIn Matched Audiences built via the API support three member types: contact (email-based), company (domain or LinkedIn Page URL-based), and a mix. When you use Add Contact to Audience, you pass an email address and optional fields like first name, last name, and job title. When you use Add Company to Audience, you pass one or more identifiers such as company website domain, LinkedIn Page URL, or stock symbol. LinkedIn matches these against its member graph. Audiences require at least 300 matched members before they activate for targeting.
Can I send offline conversions back to LinkedIn from my CRM?
Yes. Use the Send Conversion Event action to send offline or CRM-sourced conversions back to LinkedIn. You pass the conversion rule ID (set up in Campaign Manager with a Data Source of Conversions API), the user's email and optional name fields, a conversion timestamp, and optionally a monetary value and currency. This closes the attribution loop between LinkedIn ad clicks and downstream revenue events like closed deals, demo bookings, or product sign-ups, giving Campaign Manager accurate ROI data for your campaigns.
How do I pull LinkedIn Ads performance data into Google Sheets?
Use the Create Report action. You choose up to three pivot dimensions (such as campaign, creative, or date), select the metrics you want (impressions, clicks, spend, conversions, leads), specify a date range, and optionally set a time granularity (daily, monthly, or all-time). Actionist returns the report data, which the agent can then write to Google Sheets, post as a Slack digest, or append to a Notion document. Reports are generated on demand or on a schedule.
How do I suppress existing customers from my LinkedIn retargeting audiences?
Audience suppression is a common use case. When a contact converts (becomes a customer, churns, or unsubscribes), use Remove Email from Audience to remove them from retargeting audiences so you stop showing ads to people who are already customers or who have opted out. Pair this with a CRM trigger: when a deal closes as Won in HubSpot, the agent removes that contact's email from your prospect retargeting audience and adds their company to a customer lookalike seed list instead.
