Facebook Conversions (for Business admins) gives your agents direct access to the Facebook Conversions API, the server-side channel that sends conversion events from your CRM, payment platform, or e-commerce stack straight to your Facebook ad account — bypassing browser-based tracking limitations. Connect it to Actionist and your agents can report purchases, leads, funnel progressions, registrations, and custom events to Facebook within about a minute of each occurrence, with hashed customer data handled automatically. The result: more complete attribution, better ad optimisation, and audience segments built from real conversion data rather than pixel approximations.

Shopify purchase reported to Facebook server-side

When a Shopify order is confirmed, the agent verifies the CAPI dataset connection, sends a Purchase event to Facebook with the exact order value and hashed customer details, and logs the submission to a Google Sheets ledger — giving the ad account revenue-weighted conversion signals that supplement any pixel data the browser may have blocked.

What your team gets back — two angles: what you stop doing manually, and what that's worth.

Without Actionist

What you do manually today

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    40 min / week
Manual lead export for Facebook attribution

Sales ops manually exports CRM contacts, prepares a CSV with hashed fields, and uploads to Facebook Custom Audiences to attribute leads — a multi-step process that happens days after the leads actually arrived.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
Agent reports CRM leads to Facebook server-side automatically

When a new contact is created in HubSpot, the agent sends a Lead event to Facebook within about a minute with hashed contact data — no manual export or pixel dependency.

  • Marketing
    60 min / week
Pixel-only conversion tracking with coverage gaps

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
Agent sends conversion events from every platform automatically

The marketing agent fires Purchase, Subscribe, and Lead events to Facebook within about a minute of each conversion across all connected platforms, giving the ad account complete server-side signal.

  • Customer Support
    30 min / week
Manual audience uploads from support data

Support managers manually export resolved ticket data, prepare hashed customer lists, and upload them to Facebook Custom Audiences monthly to build retention segments.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
Agent sends contact and resolution events to build retention audiences

The support agent automatically fires Contact and custom resolution events to Facebook after each resolved ticket, building high-quality post-purchase audiences without any manual audience management.

  • Human Resources
    45 min / week
    Manual recruitment conversion reporting

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
Agent reports ad-sourced applications and registrations automatically

When a job application or candidate registration is completed, the HR agent sends a Lead or CompleteRegistration event to Facebook within about a minute — giving the recruitment campaign accurate cost-per-application data.

  • Finance
    75 min / week
Manual revenue reconciliation for ad attribution

    Finance Agent
    0 min
Agent submits revenue-weighted Purchase events automatically

The finance agent sends Purchase events with exact order values to Facebook within about a minute of each payment confirmation, enabling value-based ad optimisation without manual data preparation.

  • Operations
    90 min / week
Manual CAPI monitoring and gap analysis

Ops manually monitors Events Manager for coverage gaps, exports server-side event logs, and submits missing events as manual uploads — a reactive process that often misses the attribution window.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent monitors CAPI health and fills attribution gaps automatically

The operations agent runs weekly dataset and business account health checks, submits cart-abandonment backfill events, and sends custom pipeline markers — keeping CAPI coverage complete without any manual ops work.

  • Legal
    50 min / week
    Manual CAPI compliance review

Legal manually audits event schemas and consent logs in the Events Manager debug tool each month, checking whether PII fields are within scope of the active data-processing agreement — a time-consuming review with no automated alerting.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
Agent audits consent flags and PII fields in every event submission

The legal agent automatically reviews event submissions for consent flag presence and approved PII fields each week, flagging any compliance gaps before they become regulatory issues.

FAQs

Questions about Facebook Conversions (for Business admins) + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to the Facebook Conversions API?
Go to the Apps tab in Actionist, find Facebook Conversions (for Business admins), and click Connect. You will be redirected to a Facebook OAuth window where you authorise Actionist to access your Business Manager account. After authorisation, select the Business and Dataset you want to send events to. Actionist runs a test call to confirm the connection before any events are submitted.
What Facebook Business Manager permissions does Actionist need?
Actionist connects as a Business admin user. The authorised account must have admin access to the Facebook Business Manager account and to the specific dataset (formerly known as a pixel) you intend to send events to. You select the Business and Dataset during the connection setup — Actionist does not have access to datasets you do not explicitly authorise.
What is the Facebook Conversions API and how does it differ from the pixel?
Facebook Conversions API (CAPI) is a server-side integration that sends conversion events directly from your server or CRM to Facebook, bypassing browser-based tracking limitations such as ad blockers and iOS privacy restrictions. Unlike the pixel which fires in the browser, CAPI events travel server-to-server, giving Facebook higher-quality, more complete signal for ad optimisation. Actionist agents send these server-side events automatically whenever a qualifying action occurs in your connected systems.
Which Facebook Conversions API event types does Actionist support?
The Conversions API supports standard events such as Purchase, Lead, ViewContent, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, CompleteRegistration, Subscribe, and Contact, as well as custom events. Actionist exposes Send Purchase Event, Send Lead Event, Send Funnel Event, and Send Other Event actions covering these categories. For non-standard events, use Send Other Event and specify the custom event name matching your Facebook event set.
How does Actionist handle customer data hashing for Facebook event matching?
Facebook matches CAPI events to users using hashed customer data — email addresses, phone numbers, names, and location fields. When you use Actionist to send a Purchase or Lead event, the agent automatically hashes PII fields such as email and phone using SHA-256 before transmission, in line with Facebook's requirements. You do not need to pre-hash data yourself; Actionist handles normalisation and hashing at send time.
Will events sent through Actionist duplicate data if I also use the Facebook pixel?
If you also use the Facebook pixel on your site, you should send the same event_id in both the pixel and the CAPI event. Actionist's Send Purchase Event and Send Lead Event actions include an event_id field for exactly this purpose. Facebook uses deduplication to merge events with matching event_id and event_name values so conversions are not counted twice. Keep track of the event_id in your source system (your CRM or checkout platform) and pass it to Actionist when triggering the CAPI event.
How quickly do events sent through Actionist appear in Facebook Events Manager?
Actionist sends events to Facebook within about a minute of the triggering action in your connected app. Facebook then processes the event and makes it available in Events Manager, typically within a few minutes. Ad optimisation and reporting updates happen on Facebook's standard cycle — usually within a few hours for delivery optimisation and within 24 hours for full reporting attribution.
Can I send Facebook Conversions events from my CRM or e-commerce platform through Actionist?
Yes. Common patterns include: sending a Lead event when a new contact is created in your CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive); sending a Purchase event when a new order is confirmed in Shopify, WooCommerce, or Stripe; sending a CompleteRegistration event when a form is submitted in Typeform or Gravity Forms; and sending a Subscribe event when a new subscriber is added to your email platform. Any app connected to Actionist that generates a qualifying action can trigger a Facebook Conversions event.
