What permissions does the API key need for CraftMyPDF?
Your CraftMyPDF API key carries the same permissions as your account plan. For most automation tasks — generating PDFs, listing templates, and filling forms — a standard API key is sufficient. If you need to manage templates (create or delete), confirm your plan allows those operations. Generate your API key from the CraftMyPDF dashboard under Account Settings and treat it like a password.

Can the agent fill in existing PDF forms rather than generating from a template?
Yes. The Fill PDF Document action lets you fill in an existing PDF's form fields with data from any source — a CRM record, a spreadsheet row, or form submission values. This is different from the Generate PDF Document action, which renders a CraftMyPDF template from scratch. Use Fill PDF Document when you already have a PDF with defined form fields (AcroForm) and just need to populate them programmatically.
Can Actionist merge multiple PDFs into one document?
Yes. The Join Multiple PDF URLs action merges several PDF files into a single document. Supply a list of PDF URLs and the agent calls the action to produce one combined file. This is useful for assembling multi-section reports, appending appendices to contracts, or bundling multiple generated PDFs into one delivery package. The output is a URL to the merged PDF that can then be saved or emailed.
How do I add watermarks or page numbers to a generated PDF?
Use the Add Page Numbers, Watermark and Text to PDF action to stamp any PDF with watermarks, headers, footers, or page number overlays — useful for draft or confidential markings before sharing. Combine this with Generate PDF Document or Fill PDF Document in the same task: generate the base document first, then pass its URL to the watermarking step before delivering the final file to storage or email.
