CommunicationProductivityProjectsDocumentsDeveloperAutomation

Confluence Cloud is Atlassian's collaborative workspace for pages, blog posts, project knowledge, and internal documentation. Actionist agents can search existing pages, create structured documentation, react when content changes, and keep recurring team knowledge organized across the tools your team already uses.

Incident notes turned into a reviewed postmortem

The agent searches for the service runbook, creates a Confluence postmortem draft with timeline, impact, owners, and follow-up links, then posts the page for human review. The incident lead starts from a complete draft rather than reconstructing events from chat.

FAQs

Questions about Confluence Cloud + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to Confluence Cloud?
Use the Apps tab to connect Confluence Cloud. The recommended path is an Atlassian MCP or OAuth connection where available. Confluence Cloud also supports direct REST API access with basic auth using an Atlassian API token, so teams that prefer token-based credentials can use the API-key style setup.
What Confluence actions can agents use?
The scraped Confluence Cloud connector exposes Create Page or Blog Post, Search for Page or Blog Post, Find or Create Page, and API Request (Beta). The page is written around those real operations rather than a broader invented action list.
Can Confluence changes trigger an agent?
Yes. The scrape includes New Page or Blog Post and Updated Page events. In Actionist copy we describe those as firing within about a minute, because app triggers are polled and should be framed with that timing.
Can an agent update existing Confluence content?
The standard scraped action list is strongest for creating, finding, and searching pages. For advanced supported Confluence REST calls, use API Request (Beta) with the right credentials and approval mode. Sensitive or destructive changes should stay approval-led.
Can Actionist combine Confluence with Jira, Slack, or Google Sheets?
Yes. A scheduled agent task can search or create Confluence pages, then use connected apps such as Jira, Slack, Gmail, Google Sheets, or Google Calendar in the same task. The important distinction is that Actionist schedules agent tasks, not workflow execution.
Will Actionist answer employees from Confluence in chat?
Agents can use Confluence search results as context, then respond through supported Actionist channels. The supported chat channels are Telegram and Slack. Email should be treated as an app connection or trigger source, not an Actionist chat channel.
What permissions should we grant?
Grant the smallest Confluence scope that lets the agent do the job: search and read for lookup agents, create-page access for documentation agents, and broader API access only for trusted use cases. Keep approval modes tighter for content that affects legal, HR, security, or customer-facing pages.
