CommunicationProductivityProjectsDocumentsSpreadsheetsScheduling

Lark is an all-in-one collaboration suite that combines instant messaging, video conferencing, shared documents, spreadsheets, project tasks, and a database builder (Lark Base) in a single mobile-first platform. Connect it to Actionist and your agents can send messages to group chats and individuals, create calendar events and tasks, build Base table records, upload files, and search across the entire Lark workspace — keeping every team in sync without anyone switching tabs.

Eliminates manual work. Agents eliminate the manual work of copying data into Lark Base, composing group chat updates, setting up new hire workspaces, assembling incident response teams, and creating meeting documents — all tasks that typically take a few minutes each but add up to hours across a team every week.

Lead notification to Lark sales channel on form submission

When a prospect fills in the website contact form, the agent creates a Lark Base record for the lead, sends a bot message to the #sales Lark group chat with the lead's details, creates a follow-up task for the assigned rep, and logs the record in the CRM — all within about a minute of the form submission.

What you do manually today

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    50 min / week
Manual lead logging and rep notification

When a new lead comes in, the sales manager manually copies the details into Lark Base, pastes a note into the #sales group chat, and creates a follow-up task for the rep — taking 10 minutes per lead.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
Agent logs, notifies, and tasks in one step

When a lead form is submitted, the agent creates the Lark Base record, posts a structured message to the sales channel, and creates the rep's task all within about a minute.

  • Marketing
    30 min / week
Manual campaign sheet creation every launch

The marketing team manually creates a new Lark Sheet for each campaign, copies column headers from a template, and shares the link in the #marketing channel — repeated for every new campaign.

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
Agent creates campaign sheets and announces them automatically

When a campaign launches, the agent creates the Lark Sheet with the correct columns, files it in the right folder, and posts the link to the marketing channel — all within about a minute.

  • Customer Support
    40 min / week
    Manual escalation team assembly

When a P1 issue is raised, the support lead manually messages each engineer in Lark, invites them to the incident channel, and creates an incident task — a process that can take 10 or more minutes during a stressful outage.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
Agent assembles the incident team within about a minute

When a critical alert fires, the agent sends the incident message, invites the on-call engineers, and creates the task automatically — the team is assembled before anyone has finished reading the alert.

  • Human Resources
    90 min / week
    Manual new hire workspace setup

HR manually creates a Lark folder for each new hire, invites them to group chats one by one, and creates the onboarding task list from a template — often taking 30 to 45 minutes per new hire.

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
Agent sets up every new hire's Lark workspace automatically

When a start date is confirmed, the agent creates the folder, sends the invites, and creates the full onboarding task sequence — the new hire's workspace is ready before they log in.

  • Finance
    60 min / week
    Manual invoice logging and notification

When an invoice is approved, the finance team manually creates a Lark Base expense record, uploads the PDF to the correct folder, and posts a message to the #finance channel — 8 to 10 minutes per invoice.

    Finance Agent
    0 min
Agent logs, files, and notifies on every invoice approval

When the accounting system marks an invoice approved, the agent creates the Base record, uploads the PDF, and posts the confirmation message automatically within about a minute.

  • Operations
    60 min / week
Manual Monday morning status report compilation

The operations lead manually reviews each active project, copies status notes into a shared doc, and posts summaries to each team's Lark channel — an hour of work before the week has even started.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent posts project status to every team channel automatically

Every Monday at 8 AM the agent pulls statuses from Lark Base and sends a tailored digest to each team's channel — every team is briefed before anyone touches a keyboard.

  • Legal
    30 min / week
Manual contract expiry tracking and alerting

The legal team maintains a spreadsheet of contract expiry dates and manually sends Lark messages to remind stakeholders — a weekly process that often leads to missed renewals when the sheet falls out of date.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
Agent flags expiring contracts and creates renewal tasks weekly

Every Monday the agent searches Lark Base for contracts expiring in 60 days, creates renewal tasks, and posts the list to the #legal channel — the team always has a 60-day runway.

FAQs

Questions about Lark + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to Lark?
Go to the Apps tab in Actionist, find Lark, and click Connect. Actionist uses OAuth to connect to your Lark workspace — you will be taken to a Lark authorisation page where you sign in and grant the required permissions. Once authorised, Actionist can send messages, create tasks, manage calendar events, and interact with Lark Base on your behalf. The connection takes about 30 seconds to complete.
What permissions does Actionist need in my Lark workspace?
Actionist requests the permissions needed for the actions you use. For messaging, it needs permission to send messages as a bot or as your user account. For tasks and calendar, it needs read and write access to your Lark tasks and calendar. For Lark Base and documents, it needs permission to read and create records, documents, and folders within your workspace. You can review the exact permissions during the OAuth authorisation flow before approving.
How quickly does Actionist detect new messages in a Lark group chat?
The Lark integration uses webhooks for group chat message triggers, so Actionist picks up new messages within about a minute of them being sent. This means a keyword-triggered response or a task creation from a group chat message typically completes within about a minute of the original message. For time-critical workflows like incident response, this is fast enough to begin automated assembly before manual response would typically start.
Can Actionist send messages as a user rather than a bot in Lark?
Yes. Actionist supports both Send Direct Message (As Bot) and Send Direct Message (As User), as well as Send Message to Lark Group Chat (As Bot) and Send Message to Lark Group Chat (As User). When you use the 'As User' variants, the message appears as if sent by the connected Lark user account rather than a bot. This is useful for automated messages that should feel like a personal communication from a team member, such as a welcome message from a manager or a follow-up from a sales rep.
Can Actionist work with Lark Base as a database?
Yes. Actionist can create new records in a Lark Base table, update existing records, and search Base tables by field values. This makes Lark Base a useful destination for operational data — you can log new leads, approved invoices, resolved tickets, or any other structured event from connected apps directly into a Base table. Agents can also search Base records before creating new ones to avoid duplicates.
Does Actionist support Lark Feishu (the Chinese version) as well as Lark international?
The Actionist Lark integration connects to Lark international (larksuite.com). Feishu (feishu.cn) is the China-specific version of the platform with separate infrastructure and credentials. If your team uses Feishu, check the Actionist Apps tab for a dedicated Feishu connection option. The available linked skills for Feishu-specific integration (Feishu Bridge, Feishu Docx PowerWrite) can extend connectivity further for teams on the Chinese platform.
Can I use Actionist to automate Lark alongside other tools like Slack and Google Workspace?
Yes. Actionist is designed to connect multiple apps in a single agent task. A common pattern is to trigger from a Google Workspace event, do work in Lark (send a message, create a task, update a Base record), and post a summary recap to Slack. Because Actionist can read and write both Lark and Slack in the same agent run, teams that use Lark internally but Slack for external communications can keep both in sync automatically.
Can Actionist create and manage Lark calendar events for scheduling automation?
Yes. Actionist can create new Lark calendar events with title, time, attendees, description, and location, and it can also search for existing events and update them. Common scheduling automations include creating kick-off meetings when a new project is confirmed, adding onboarding call slots when a new hire's start date is set, and rescheduling events when conflicts are detected in connected calendars. Actionist operates on the Lark calendar of the connected user account.
