Proposal-sent notification with delivery confirmation

When a deal advances to Proposal Sent in HubSpot, the agent pulls the prospect's email from the CRM, calls Send Email via Resend to deliver the branded proposal cover email, then calls Get Email after 30 minutes to confirm delivery. If the email bounced, a Slack alert fires to the rep immediately so they can follow up by phone.

Savings

What your team gets back — two angles: what you stop doing manually, and what that's worth.

Without Actionist

What you do manually today

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    20 min / week
Manual bounce check after every send

Reps send proposal emails then check the Resend dashboard hours later to see if they delivered — by which time the prospect window has often passed.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
Agent confirms delivery and alerts on bounce within about a minute

After each proposal email, the agent calls Get Email to confirm delivery. If it bounced, a Slack alert fires to the rep immediately so they can pivot to a phone call.

  • Marketing
    30 min / week
Manual CSV import and segment setup before every campaign

Marketers export contacts from the CRM, clean the CSV, import into Resend, then manually build segments before each campaign — taking 2-3 hours of setup per launch.

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
Agent syncs contacts and segments automatically from the CRM

The agent creates contacts and segments in Resend whenever they appear or change in the CRM — campaigns launch into a pre-built, accurate audience every time.

  • Customer Support
    15 min / week
Manual opt-out processing with lag risk

Support agents paste opt-out emails into Resend manually, sometimes days after the request — risking a follow-up marketing email hitting an opted-out contact.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
Agent processes unsubscribes within about a minute of request

When an unsubscribe reply arrives, the agent calls Update Contact and sends the confirmation email — the contact is opted out before the next scheduled send runs.

  • Human Resources
    25 min / week
Manual new-hire email and audience setup

HR manually adds each new hire to Resend, builds the welcome email, and sends it — a 20-minute task for each new starter that often gets delayed past the first day.

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
Agent creates contact, adds to segment, and sends welcome email automatically

When a new employee appears in the HRIS, the agent creates the Resend contact, adds them to the new-hire segment, and sends a personalised welcome email — all before the first standup.

  • Finance
    90 min / week
Manual invoice email per client, one at a time

Finance sends each invoice email individually from Gmail, copying in the Resend template manually — 90 minutes of work at the end of every billing cycle.

    Finance Agent
    0 min
Agent batch-sends all invoices in a single Resend API call

The agent assembles personalised invoice emails for all clients and calls Send Batch Emails once — all invoices dispatched with delivery confirmation before the billing-cycle flag clears.

  • Operations
    60 min / week
Weekly manual delivery health check in the Resend dashboard

An ops team member logs into Resend every Monday to pull delivery stats, copies numbers into a spreadsheet, and formats a report — an hour of work before the standup.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent posts the delivery health report to Slack automatically

The agent calls List Emails each Monday, tallies delivered vs bounced, and posts the summary to #operations — the report is ready before the standup with no manual dashboard visit.

  • Legal
    40 min / week
Manual opt-out and compliance email audit

Legal manually searches Resend for each opt-out request, updates the contact, sends confirmation, and logs the action — a 30-minute process for each data-subject request.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
Agent processes GDPR opt-outs and confirms delivery for compliance notices

The agent calls Update Contact for every opt-out request and Get Email for every regulatory send, logging each action to the compliance tracker — the full audit trail is complete without a dashboard visit.

FAQs

Questions about Resend + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to Resend?
Go to the Apps tab, find Resend, and click Connect. Paste your Resend API key — found in the Resend dashboard under API Keys — into the connection field. Actionist runs a test call to confirm the key is valid before any actions run. The key needs at least Send Email and Audiences read/write permissions; a full-access key works for all supported operations.
What Resend API permissions does the agent need?
For email sending (Send Email, Send Batch Emails, Schedule Email, Cancel Scheduled Email, Get Email, List Emails) the key needs the 'Sending access' permission. For audience management (Create Contact, Retrieve Contact, Update Contact, List Contacts, Create Segment, Add Contact to Segment, Remove Contact From Segment, Delete Segment, List Audiences) it needs 'Audiences access'. A full-access API key covers both. Narrowing the key to only the permissions your agent uses is best practice.
Can Actionist send emails from my custom domain?
Yes. Resend requires your sending domain to be verified before any email can be dispatched from it. Set up your domain in the Resend dashboard under Domains first — add the DNS records Resend provides and wait for verification. Once verified, pass the domain in the 'From' field of the Send Email action (e.g. 'Acme Team <updates@yourdomain.com>'). Actionist cannot configure or verify Resend domains itself; that step is done in the Resend dashboard.
How does the agent know if an email actually delivered versus bounced?
After calling Send Email, Actionist captures the email ID returned by Resend. The agent can then call Get Email with that ID to retrieve the current delivery status — delivered, bounced, complained, or scheduled. Because Resend's status is near-final within about a minute of the send attempt, agents typically wait 1-2 minutes before calling Get Email for a delivery check. For bounces, the status includes the bounce code so the agent can route the alert intelligently.
Can I use Actionist to send to a mailing list, not just individual recipients?
Yes. Use Send Batch Emails to send up to 100 personalised emails in a single API call — each with its own recipient, subject, and HTML body. For larger lists, the agent iterates the List Contacts response in batches of 100 and calls Send Batch Emails per batch. This keeps your send volume compliant with Resend's API rate limits without requiring a third-party broadcast tool. Marketing-list sends still require your contacts to have opted in and your sending domain to be verified.
How do I make sure unsubscribe requests are processed before the next campaign?
Set up an agent that monitors your support inbox or a dedicated unsubscribe address for opt-out replies. When a match is detected, the agent calls Retrieve Contact to confirm the address is in Resend, then calls Update Contact to set unsubscribed to true, and sends a confirmation email. Because the agent runs within about a minute of the reply arriving, unsubscribes are processed long before any scheduled campaign send. For GDPR scenarios, the agent can also call Remove Contact From Segment to immediately remove the contact from any active segments.
Can Actionist schedule an email and cancel it if conditions change?
Yes. Call Schedule Email with a future ISO 8601 timestamp to queue the send. Actionist stores the email ID returned by Resend. If the triggering condition changes — a renewal is paid, an event is cancelled, a deal closes — the agent calls Cancel Scheduled Email using that ID to pull the message before it dispatches. This is useful for renewal reminders, drip sequences, and any send where real-world events should suppress the email.
Is Resend suitable for both transactional and marketing email, and does Actionist support both?
Resend supports both transactional email (order confirmations, password resets, invoice delivery, compliance notices) and marketing email (newsletters, drip sequences, campaign sends) from the same API. Actionist agents can handle both: Send Email and Send Batch Emails work for any message type. The key difference is audience management — marketing sends should use Resend's Audiences and Segments features (Create Contact, Add Contact to Segment, etc.) so unsubscribes are tracked correctly. Transactional sends typically bypass the audience and send directly to a recipient address.
