AnalyticsFinanceEcommerceAutomationPaymentsAccounting

Razorpay is India's leading full-stack payments platform — enabling businesses to accept payments via cards, UPI, net banking, wallets, and EMI, and to disburse payments, issue invoices, and manage subscriptions through a single API. Connect it to Actionist and your agents can create orders and payment links, capture payments, issue refunds, monitor subscription lifecycle events, and trigger fulfilment and accounting workflows the moment a payment settles — without anyone touching the Razorpay dashboard.

Payment link created and logged the moment a deal is accepted

When a deal advances to 'Proposal Accepted' in HubSpot, the agent reads the deal amount and customer details, creates a Razorpay payment link, logs the URL back to the deal record, and notifies the rep in Slack — all before the rep has finished writing the follow-up email.

What your team gets back — two angles: what you stop doing manually, and what that's worth.

Without Actionist

What you do manually today

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    22 min / week
Manual payment link creation after deal acceptance

Reps log into the Razorpay dashboard, manually fill in the amount and customer details, copy the link, paste it into the CRM, and then email it to the customer — typically taking 10-15 minutes per deal.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
Agent creates and logs payment links at deal acceptance

When a deal reaches 'Proposal Accepted', the agent creates a Razorpay payment link with the exact amount, logs it to the deal record, and notifies the rep — all within about a minute of the stage change.

  • Marketing
    18 min / week
Manual campaign revenue attribution after payments

The marketing team cross-references Razorpay payment records against campaign source tags manually each week, copying amounts into the attribution spreadsheet and recalculating conversion rates.

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
Agent attributes revenue to campaigns on each payment link conversion

When a payment link paid event fires, the agent logs the conversion and campaign source to the attribution sheet automatically — no manual spreadsheet update required after each sale.

  • Customer Support
    14 min / week
    Manual refund processing via dashboard

Support agents collect refund details, escalate to finance for approval, wait for the finance team to log into Razorpay and process the refund, then manually update the customer — often taking 1-3 business days.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
Agent initiates refunds and notifies customers within minutes

When a refund is approved, the agent calls Create a Refund, logs the refund ID to the ticket, and sends the customer a confirmation — the whole flow completes without routing through finance for standard cases.

  • Human Resources
    12 min / week
Manual contractor invoice creation and payment tracking

HR creates each contractor invoice manually in Razorpay, emails the invoice separately, and then chases payment status by logging into the dashboard — repeating this cycle for every contractor each month.

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
Agent creates contractor invoices and tracks payment status automatically

When approved contractor work is logged, the agent creates a Razorpay invoice, sends it to the contractor, and logs the invoice ID to the expense tracker — no manual invoice creation or status-chasing required.

  • Finance
    30 min / week
Manual weekly payment export and reconciliation

Finance manually exports payment data from the Razorpay dashboard each week, copies the CSV into Google Sheets, formats the breakdown by payment method, and cross-references against orders.

    Finance Agent
    0 min
Agent reconciles weekly payments automatically to Google Sheets

Every Friday, the agent fetches all captured payments for the week, groups them by method, and writes the breakdown to the reconciliation sheet — finance teams open Friday with numbers already in the sheet.

  • Operations
    35 min / week
Manual order and payment lifecycle monitoring

Ops manually checks the Razorpay dashboard for stale orders, uncaptured payments, and expired payment links — a process that requires logging into multiple dashboard views and cross-referencing against CRM records.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent monitors the full payment lifecycle and flags anomalies automatically

The operations agent checks order status, payment capture state, and payment link expiry on schedule — flagging stale orders, uncaptured authorisations, and expiring links before they become revenue problems.

  • Legal
    20 min / week
Manual refund SLA tracking and transaction compliance review

Legal manually reviews Razorpay refund records each week, compares timestamps against contractual SLAs, and screens high-value transactions for AML compliance — a time-intensive process with no audit trail unless documented manually.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
Agent runs refund SLA and high-value transaction compliance checks weekly

The legal agent fetches all refunds and high-value transactions on schedule, checks each against SLA and AML thresholds, and appends to the compliance log — a complete audit trail without any manual screening.

How to plug Razorpay into Actionist

Pick the connection method that suits your environment.

Connect Razorpay using your API Key ID and Key Secret — the standard credential pair for all Razorpay API operations. Use test keys for staging environments and live keys for production agents.

1
Open Razorpay API Keys settings

Log in to your Razorpay Dashboard. Go to Settings → API Keys. If you have not already generated a key pair, click 'Generate Test Key' (for staging) or 'Generate Live Key' (for production).

2
Copy Key ID and Key Secret

Copy the Key ID and Key Secret. The Key Secret is shown only once at generation — if you have lost it, regenerate a new key pair. Treat the Key Secret like a password.

3
Paste into Actionist and test

Paste both the Key ID and Key Secret into Actionist and click Test connection. Actionist makes a read-only API call to verify the credentials before any actions run.

FAQs

Questions about Razorpay + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to Razorpay?
Go to the Apps tab in Actionist, find Razorpay, and click Connect. Razorpay uses API key authentication — you will need your Key ID and Key Secret from the Razorpay dashboard (Settings → API Keys → Generate Test/Live Key). Paste both into Actionist, select whether these are test or live credentials, and click Test connection. Actionist makes a read-only API call to confirm the handshake before any actions run.
What credentials does Actionist need to connect to Razorpay?
Actionist needs both your Razorpay Key ID and Key Secret (together they form the HTTP Basic auth credentials for the API). You generate a key pair per environment — keep your test keys for staging workflows and your live keys for production agents. The live key pair is under Razorpay Dashboard → Settings → API Keys. Treat the Key Secret like a password: never share it or commit it to version control. Actionist stores it encrypted and never logs it in plain text.
Can I trigger Actionist workflows when a payment is captured or fails?
Yes. Razorpay's webhook system fires events across payments, orders, refunds, subscriptions, payment links, and invoices. In Actionist, triggers map to these webhook events — for example, Payment Captured fires when a customer's payment is successfully captured, and Payment Failed fires when a charge attempt is declined. Actionist subscribes to the relevant webhook events on your behalf and routes them into your agent workflow within about a minute of the event occurring in Razorpay.
What are the most common things agents do with Razorpay?
The most common patterns: (1) post-payment fulfilment — when a payment is captured, the agent updates your CRM, sends a receipt via Slack, and creates a task in Notion; (2) failed-payment recovery — when Payment Failed fires, the agent logs the event, emails the customer with retry instructions, and opens a support ticket; (3) invoice automation — when an invoice is paid, the agent fetches the payment details, updates your accounting system, and marks the deal closed in HubSpot; (4) subscription lifecycle — when a subscription activates or churns, the agent triggers the relevant onboarding or retention flow.
Can the agent issue refunds through Razorpay?
Actionist can create refunds via the Create a Refund action, specifying the payment ID and either a full or partial amount. The agent can also fetch existing refunds with Fetch a Refund to check status before taking downstream actions. Razorpay refunds are processed by Razorpay and credited back to the customer's original payment method according to Razorpay's refund timelines — Actionist initiates and monitors the refund but does not control the bank-side processing time.
Can the agent create Razorpay payment links and send them to customers?
Yes. Actionist's Create a Payment Link action generates a Razorpay payment link — a shareable URL where a customer can complete a payment without you building a checkout flow. The agent can personalise the link (prefill customer name, email, contact number), set a description and expiry, and optionally notify the customer. Payment links are ideal for B2B invoicing, sales follow-ups, and event registrations where you want the customer to pay on their own schedule.
Does Actionist support Razorpay subscriptions?
Actionist supports Razorpay subscriptions through the Fetch a Subscription action, which retrieves the current status, plan, and next billing date. Trigger workflows can fire when a subscription is activated, charged, or cancelled via the subscription webhook events. For example, when a subscription activates, the agent can provision access in your product database, send a welcome message, and log the new MRR in your finance tracker.
Does Actionist work with all Razorpay payment methods including UPI?
Razorpay is India's leading full-stack payments platform — it accepts cards, UPI, net banking, wallets, and EMI payments and also supports international cards via Razorpay's currency conversion. Actionist integrates with Razorpay's REST API, which covers the same payment methods regardless of the customer's chosen instrument. You do not need to configure separate connections per payment method — the API unifies all of them under the same payment object.
