It gives teams a single place to build contact lists, create segmented audiences, design email campaigns, trigger automations based on customer behaviour, and measure revenue attribution from every send. Product launch email staged and scheduled on publish

When a new product is published in Shopify, the agent finds the matching audience segment and email template in Omnisend, creates a campaign with the product name and link pre-filled, and schedules it for the next morning. The marketing team gets a Slack confirmation — the launch email is ready without anyone opening the Omnisend campaign builder.

What your team gets back — two angles: what you stop doing manually, and what that's worth.

Without Actionist

What you do manually today

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    45 min / week
    Manual lead-to-email-list sync

Reps or marketing ops manually export CRM leads to CSV, import them into Omnisend, and tag each one — a process that typically lags by days and misses contacts who convert fast.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
Agent enrolls leads in email sequences as they arrive

When a new lead is added to the CRM, the agent creates an Omnisend subscriber, tags the source, and fires the welcome event — the nurture sequence starts within about a minute without the rep touching Omnisend.

  • Marketing
    90 min / week
    Manual campaign setup in Omnisend

A team member logs into Omnisend, creates each campaign manually, selects the audience, uploads or selects the template, sets the schedule, and proofreads before sending — typically 20-30 minutes per campaign.

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
Agent stages and schedules campaigns from the brief

The marketing agent reads the weekly campaign brief, creates each campaign in Omnisend with the correct template and segment, and schedules all sends — the campaign builder session becomes a review-and-approve workflow.

  • Customer Support
    30 min / week
    Manual review request send

CX team manually identifies satisfied customers from the ticket queue, exports their emails, and uploads them to Omnisend to trigger the review sequence — done weekly at best, missing most resolution windows.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
    Agent triggers post-resolution sequences automatically

When a ticket closes as resolved, the agent fires the customer event in Omnisend and the review-request sequence starts within about a minute — with no CX team member needing to log the action.

  • Human Resources
    20 min / week
Manual list maintenance for internal comms

HR manually exports the employee list to CSV each month and re-imports it into Omnisend, with leavers and starters often out of sync for 2-4 weeks before the next export.

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
Agent adds new starters on day one and removes leavers on exit

When a new hire is added to the HRIS, the agent creates their Omnisend subscriber record the Thursday before their start date — the welcome email fires automatically on Monday morning.

  • Finance
    60 min / week
Manual Omnisend report export for finance

A marketing team member logs into Omnisend, exports campaign performance to CSV, reformats it for the financial model, and emails it to finance — typically done the night before the review, under time pressure.

    Finance Agent
    0 min
Agent delivers email attribution data before the finance review

The finance agent retrieves campaign stats and segment sizes from Omnisend and writes them to the financial model automatically — the CFO has email-channel ROI numbers without anyone manually exporting reports.

  • Operations
    40 min / week
    Manual segment count checks

Ops manually spot-checks segment sizes in the Omnisend dashboard before major sends — a fragmented process that misses gradual decay and catches problems only after a campaign has already gone out to the wrong audience size.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent monitors segment health and flags anomalies weekly

Every Monday, the operations agent retrieves all segment contact counts, calculates week-over-week change, and flags anomalous segments before the week's campaigns are staged — list quality is protected before sends, not after.

  • Legal
    25 min / week
    Manual compliance log maintenance

Legal or marketing ops manually exports campaign send logs from Omnisend monthly and updates the compliance register — a process that is rarely current and cannot demonstrate timely opt-out processing for audits.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
Agent logs campaign dispatch and opt-outs to compliance register

Campaign send records and unsubscribe events are automatically logged to the compliance register by the legal agent — the audit trail is maintained without anyone manually exporting and filing records.

FAQs

Questions about Omnisend + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to Omnisend?
Go to the Apps tab in Actionist, find Omnisend, and click Connect. The recommended path is API key — log in to Omnisend, navigate to Profile → Store Settings → API Keys, generate a new key, and paste it into Actionist. The agent runs a test call to confirm the handshake before any actions run. If you manage multiple Omnisend stores, generate a separate key per store account.
What permissions does the agent need on my Omnisend account?
Omnisend uses account-level API keys that inherit the permissions of the store they belong to. A single key gives the agent access to contacts, campaigns, email templates, segments, images, and custom events. There are no granular read/write scopes — it is all-or-nothing at the account level. For security, generate a dedicated Actionist key and rotate it if the agent's access is ever revoked.
Can I connect Omnisend to other apps in the same workflow?
Yes — Omnisend integrates tightly with the rest of your stack. Common combinations: trigger campaigns when orders close in Shopify or WooCommerce; create subscribers when new leads arrive from a form tool or CRM; fetch campaign stats and write them to Google Sheets for board reports; send a customer event when a deal closes in HubSpot to unlock a post-purchase automation. Any of Actionist's 200+ connected apps can send or receive data alongside Omnisend in the same workflow.
What are the most common things agents do with Omnisend?
The four patterns that come up most often: (1) subscriber lifecycle — creating or updating contacts when new leads arrive from any source and adding them to the right segment; (2) campaign orchestration — scheduling or sending campaigns based on external triggers (a product launch, a sale going live, a milestone date); (3) event-driven automations — sending a customer event to Omnisend to fire a post-purchase or re-engagement automation whenever a condition is met outside Omnisend; (4) reporting — pulling campaign and segment statistics on a schedule and writing them to a shared dashboard or alerting the team in Slack.
Can Actionist add a contact to a specific Omnisend segment?
Yes. When Actionist creates or updates a contact in Omnisend it can set tags, custom field values, and opt-in status. Segments in Omnisend are dynamic — once the contact attributes are set, Omnisend automatically recalculates which segments the contact qualifies for based on your segment rules. To place a contact into a named segment immediately, use the Find Segment action to look up the segment ID and pass it when creating the contact, or use Send Customer Event to fire an event that a segment condition is already listening for.
How do I trigger an Omnisend automation from an external event?
Use Send Customer Event rather than directly triggering a campaign. Omnisend's automation workflows listen for custom events — when the agent fires the event (e.g. 'subscription_renewed'), Omnisend's automation engine picks it up within about a minute and executes the associated email or SMS flow. This is more reliable than direct campaign sends for lifecycle automations because the workflow handles timing, frequency capping, and A/B testing logic on Omnisend's side.
Can I trigger a workflow in Actionist when someone subscribes in Omnisend?
Use the New Contact trigger. It fires within about a minute of a contact being created in Omnisend — whether from a signup form, a direct API call, or an ecommerce platform sync. You can then use downstream steps to add the lead to a CRM, notify a sales rep in Slack, or write the contact into a Google Sheets pipeline tracker. If you only want to react to contacts from a specific source, filter by the contact's tag or custom field value in the workflow condition step.
Can Actionist schedule or send an Omnisend campaign automatically?
Yes, with one caveat: Omnisend requires that a campaign have a configured audience, subject line, sender details, and a selected email template before it can be sent or scheduled. The agent uses Create Campaign to build the campaign record, then Send Campaign (with a scheduled time) to dispatch it. If you want to reuse a previous design, use Find Email Template to retrieve the template ID and include it in the campaign payload. For one-off promotional sends, this works cleanly; for triggered automations based on customer behaviour, Omnisend's built-in automation engine is the better path.
