Proposal sent in HubSpot triggers an SMS to the prospect

When a deal moves to Proposal Sent in HubSpot, the agent validates the prospect's number with Number Lookup, sends a personalized SMS summarizing the proposal and next step, schedules a follow-up call 48 hours out in Google Calendar, and logs the send event to the deal tracker — all before the rep has finished drafting the follow-up email.

What your team gets back — two angles: what you stop doing manually, and what that's worth.

Without Actionist

What you do manually today

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    30 min / week
Manual SMS outreach at each deal stage

Reps manually compose and send SMS follow-ups for each proposal, reminder, and meeting confirmation — logging each send by hand in the CRM afterwards.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
Agent sends verified SMS at every deal milestone

When a deal stage changes in HubSpot, the agent validates the prospect's number and sends a personalized SMS within about a minute — the rep knows the message was delivered without sending it themselves.

  • Marketing
    90 min / week
Manual list scrubbing and bulk send

The marketing team manually exports contact lists, checks numbers against a validation tool, removes bad entries in a spreadsheet, then uploads the cleaned list to a bulk SMS platform to send the campaign.

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
Agent validates, sends, and reports the bulk campaign automatically

Before the campaign fires, the agent runs Number Lookup on every contact, removes invalid numbers, sends the bulk SMS, and posts a delivery rate summary — all without a human in the loop.

  • Customer Support
    40 min / week
    Manual phone verification follow-up

Support agents manually contact users with unverified phone numbers, request a callback or manual code entry, and update account records by hand — adding minutes to each new-account workflow.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
Agent runs OTP verification inline in the signup flow

When a new account is created, the agent sends the OTP and verifies the response automatically — only users who pass verification reach the support queue, reducing noise from invalid accounts.

  • Human Resources
    25 min / week
    Email-only candidate and employee reminders

HR sends reminder emails that get buried in inboxes, leading to no-shows and missed deadlines that require manual follow-up calls to resolve.

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
Agent sends confirmed-delivery SMS for every interview and deadline

HR reminders for interviews, onboarding, and benefit deadlines go out via validated SMS with delivery confirmation — HR knows the message was received, not just sent.

  • Finance
    45 min / week
Weekly manual payment chasing by email

Finance manually reviews overdue invoices each week, drafts individual reminder emails, and logs each send — a process that delays first-touch reminders by days and consumes accountant time.

    Finance Agent
    0 min
Agent fires payment reminder SMS within minutes of invoice going overdue

The moment an invoice flips to overdue in the billing system, the agent sends an SMS to the billing contact with the amount and payment link — recovery starts before the day is out.

  • Operations
    20 min / week
    Manual on-call notification for incidents

Operations staff manually call or text each on-call engineer when an incident fires, working through a contact list one person at a time while the incident clock is running.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent reaches on-call staff via SMS then voice in under 3 minutes

When a critical alert fires, the agent sends SMS to all on-call contacts and automatically escalates to a voice call for any that fail delivery — full alerting completed without a human dispatching it.

  • Legal
    30 min / week
Manual notice dispatch and delivery logging

Paralegals manually draft and send SMS or email notices for each contract deadline, then follow up to confirm receipt and log the communication to the matter file by hand.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
Agent sends and logs verified SMS legal notices with delivery evidence

The legal agent sends a branded SMS to each counterparty before a deadline, checks delivery status, and writes the delivery timestamp to the matter record — an auditable notice trail at zero manual effort.

FAQs

Questions about Mocean + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to MoceanAPI?
Go to the Apps tab in Actionist, find Mocean, and click Connect. You will be prompted for your Mocean API key and secret. Log in to your MoceanAPI dashboard at dashboard.moceanapi.com, navigate to API Credentials, copy your API key and API secret, then paste both into Actionist. Actionist runs a lightweight verification call to confirm the credentials are valid before any scheduled agent tasks run.
What credentials does Actionist need to connect to Mocean?
Actionist needs your MoceanAPI API key and API secret — the two-part credential pair issued on account creation and accessible under API Credentials in your MoceanAPI dashboard. These are account-level credentials; there is no granular scope system. Treat the secret like a password and store it in a secrets manager. If you suspect a credential has been exposed, regenerate it in the MoceanAPI dashboard and update the Actionist connection immediately.
Can I combine Mocean with other apps in the same Actionist workflow?
Yes — Mocean is most useful when combined with apps where business events originate. Common pairings: trigger an SMS when a deal stage changes in HubSpot; fire a voice OTP when a new user registers via your auth system; run a number lookup before adding a contact to Google Sheets to verify the number is live; send an appointment reminder SMS when a Google Calendar event is within 24 hours. Any app connected to Actionist can send data into or receive data from a Mocean action in the same agent task.
What are the most common Mocean automation patterns in Actionist?
The most common patterns are: (1) transactional SMS — order confirmations, shipping updates, and appointment reminders sent at the moment an event fires in your CRM or ecommerce platform; (2) OTP / two-factor authentication — sending a one-time code by SMS or voice call and checking the response before granting access; (3) number validation — running Number Lookup before adding numbers to a marketing list to eliminate unroutable numbers and reduce wasted spend; (4) voice alerts — sending a text-to-speech call for high-urgency events like a failed payment or a critical operations alert when SMS alone is insufficient.
Does Mocean support international SMS delivery?
Mocean supports delivery to more than 200 countries. Route quality varies by region — Mocean routes via direct carrier connections in its coverage markets, but delivery times and success rates depend on local carrier agreements and regulations. For markets where a specific local sender ID is required, configure the from field in the Send SMS action to match the approved local identifier for that country. MoceanAPI's number lookup endpoint can also tell you in advance whether a destination number is reachable before you attempt delivery.
Can Actionist schedule SMS messages to go out at a specific time?
Mocean's Send Scheduled SMS action accepts a delivery time parameter, so your agent can compose the message now and have Mocean hold it for delivery at the specified time — useful for appointment reminders timed exactly to a window before the event, or for bulk sends that need to hit a recipient's local business hours. Note that the scheduled delivery is handled by Mocean's gateway, not Actionist; if you cancel the Actionist task after it has fired, the message may already be queued on Mocean's end.
Can Actionist react to inbound SMS replies from Mocean?
MoceanAPI does not expose a native webhook or real-time push trigger for inbound SMS in the standard integration surface — the scrape confirms zero triggers are available. To handle inbound replies, you would configure a callback URL in your MoceanAPI account that Mocean calls when a reply arrives; that endpoint would then pass the data to your agent via a custom webhook connection. For most Actionist use cases with Mocean, the flow is outbound: an event in another app drives the agent to send an SMS or voice message via Mocean.
What does the Number Lookup action tell me about a phone number?
The Number Lookup action queries Mocean's network intelligence layer to determine whether a phone number is valid, currently active on a mobile network, the number type (mobile, landline, VoIP), and in some markets the carrier name. Running this check before a bulk SMS send lets your agent skip numbers that would fail delivery, reducing your messaging cost and keeping your sender reputation clean. The lookup does consume API credits, so it is best applied selectively — for example, before adding a new number to your CRM or before a first-time marketing send to an untested list.
