Blog post published — social posts scheduled across all channels

When a blog post is marked Published in Notion, the Marketing Agent reads the post metadata, drafts platform-specific captions for each network, and schedules posts to LinkedIn, Instagram, X/Twitter, and Threads via Metricool — all timed for each platform's peak engagement window. The #content Slack channel receives a summary of what was scheduled and when.

What your team gets back — two angles: what you stop doing manually, and what that's worth.

Without Actionist

What you do manually today

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    25 min / week
Manual DM triage and CRM entry

Sales reps check each social platform individually for incoming DMs, copy paste conversation text into the CRM manually, and draft individual replies — 10 to 15 minutes per qualified DM lead.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
Agent routes DMs to CRM and replies automatically

When a new social DM arrives, the agent classifies the intent, creates a CRM lead record, sends a personalised reply via Metricool, and alerts the sales team — all within about a minute of the DM landing.

  • Marketing
    50 min / week
Manual post scheduling across each platform

Marketers log in to Metricool, paste copy, upload media, toggle each network, and set the publish time for every post — averaging 8 to 12 minutes per post across a multi-network schedule.

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
Agent schedules posts to all networks in one action

The Marketing Agent reads approved content from the CMS and calls Schedule Post with all target network flags set, media URLs attached, and publish time configured — a full week of multi-network posts scheduled in under two minutes.

  • Customer Support
    20 min / week
Manual GMB review monitoring and manual replies

Support staff check the Metricool inbox for new GMB reviews, draft a reply for each, paste it into the platform, and repeat — every review takes 5 to 10 minutes to process and many go unanswered for hours.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
Agent detects and replies to GMB reviews within a minute

The New GMB Review trigger fires the moment Metricool detects a new review. The agent drafts a personalised reply, posts it via Reply GMB Review, and escalates negative reviews to the helpdesk — all without manual monitoring.

  • Human Resources
    30 min / week
Manual employer brand scheduling and content updates

HR team members manually schedule job postings and culture content in Metricool each week, update autolists by hand, and track engagement in a separate spreadsheet — disjointed and time-consuming across multiple platforms.

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
Agent schedules employer brand posts and maintains autolists

The HR Agent reads the approved employer brand content queue and calls Schedule Post for job openings and Add Post to Autolist for culture content — both run automatically so the recruiter never touches the Metricool planner.

  • Finance
    15 min / week
Manual monthly social data export for reporting

The finance team requests or manually exports social analytics from Metricool at month-end, reformats the data in spreadsheets, and waits for the marketing team to provide context — creating bottlenecks in the board pack preparation cycle.

    Finance Agent
    0 min
Agent keeps the analytics dashboard current daily

The daily metrics trigger writes network performance data to the finance team's Google Sheet automatically every morning. Board pack data is always ready — no month-end export sprint, no dependency on the marketing team for numbers.

  • Operations
    20 min / week
Manual failed post checking and resolution

Someone checks Metricool manually for failed posts, identifies the cause, attempts a retry, and logs the incident — often hours after the failure, by which point the scheduled publish window has long passed.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent detects, alerts, and retries failed posts automatically

The New Failed Post trigger fires within about a minute of a failure. The agent alerts the team in Slack, logs the failure, and retries the post automatically — publish gaps are minimised without anyone manually monitoring the planner.

  • Legal
    25 min / week
Periodic spot-checks of scheduled social content

Legal team members periodically review the Metricool content calendar for compliance issues — but only when flagged by marketing, and often only after content has already published, making remediation reactive rather than preventive.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
Agent pre-screens all scheduled posts before publish

Every week the Legal Agent retrieves the scheduled posts list and scans each post for compliance keywords. Flagged posts are moved to draft and a legal review task is created with a deadline before the scheduled publish time — compliance is proactive, not reactive.

FAQs

Questions about Metricool + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to Metricool?
Go to the Apps tab in Actionist, find Metricool, and click Connect. You will need a Metricool Advanced plan to generate an API token. In Metricool, go to Settings → API & Integrations, generate a token, and copy it along with your User ID. Paste both into the Actionist connection fields and click Test connection. Actionist runs a read-only call to confirm the handshake is valid before any actions run.
What Metricool plan do I need to use Actionist's integration?
Metricool's API access requires the Advanced plan or higher. The Basic and Essential plans do not include API access, so agents cannot connect to Metricool from those tiers. If you are on a lower plan, you will need to upgrade in Metricool before the connection can be established in Actionist.
Which social networks can agents post to via Metricool?
The Schedule Post action supports all networks connected to your Metricool brand: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, and Google Business Profile. Each network is a boolean flag in the action — set the ones you want and leave the rest off. TikTok auto-publishing requires a TikTok Business account connected in Metricool. Not all networks are available on all Metricool plans.
Can Actionist agents monitor and reply to DMs from all social networks?
Metricool's unified inbox currently supports direct message conversations from Instagram, Facebook, and X/Twitter. Agents can listen for new conversations via the New Inbox Conversation trigger for any of these networks and reply using the Reply Conversation action. Networks not supported in Metricool's inbox — such as TikTok or LinkedIn DMs — are not available through this integration.
How do triggers work — are they instant or polled?
Metricool's integration uses polling triggers rather than webhooks. When a trigger is active, Actionist checks for new events on a scheduled polling cadence — typically within about a minute of the event occurring. You will not receive a notification at the exact moment a post publishes or a comment arrives, but the delay is short enough for most social management workflows. For time-sensitive responses, design your workflow to run on Actionist's cloud runtime (plan-gated) rather than desktop-only mode.
Can agents fetch analytics data on demand, or only on a schedule?
Both. The Get Your Network Metrics Daily trigger fires automatically once per day with the metrics of your selected date range, making it ideal for keeping a Google Sheets dashboard perpetually current. For on-demand pulls — say, before a client meeting or at the end of a campaign — an agent can call the Get Network Metrics Daily action directly when prompted in chat. You can also schedule the agent task to run on any cadence you choose in the Actionist scheduler.
What is an Autolist and how does the Add Post to Autolist action work?
An Autolist in Metricool is a pool of content items that publish on a repeating schedule — Metricool automatically picks the next item from the list and publishes it at the configured interval, then cycles back to the start when it runs out. The Add Post to Autolist action adds a new item (text plus up to 10 media URLs) to an existing autolist. Agents use Get Autolists first to resolve the list name to the correct list ID, then pass that ID to Add Post to Autolist. This is the primary way to keep evergreen content rotations fresh without manual calendar entries.
Can I use Actionist to manage multiple Metricool brands (for agencies)?
Yes. Each Metricool API token is tied to a user account that may have multiple brand accounts. The Get Brands action retrieves all brands connected to the account, and most other actions accept a blogId parameter to target a specific brand. Agents can route actions to the correct brand by first calling Get Brands to resolve the brand name to its blogId, then passing that ID into Schedule Post, Reply Conversation, Get Network Metrics Daily, and other actions. This makes multi-brand agency workflows fully automatable without hardcoding brand IDs.
