CommunicationProductivityProjectsHRSchedulingAutomation

MeisterTask is a Kanban-style task and project management tool for teams, offering customizable boards, timelines, task automations, and built-in collaboration features. Connect it to Actionist and your agents can create tasks from any inbound signal — emails, CRM stage changes, form submissions, or calendar events — assign them to the right people, apply labels, attach documents, and keep task status synchronized with your CRM, support desk, and reporting tools, all without anyone touching the MeisterTask board manually.

Support email to assigned, labelled MeisterTask task

When a support email arrives in the shared inbox, the agent creates a deduplicated MeisterTask task, applies a priority label based on the subject line, finds the on-call agent, assigns the task with the correct SLA due date, and notifies the team in Slack — all before a human reads the email.

FAQs

Questions about MeisterTask + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to MeisterTask?
Go to the Apps tab in Actionist, find MeisterTask, and click Connect. The recommended path is OAuth — Actionist opens a MeisterTask authorization window, you sign in and grant access, and the agent gains permission to read and write your projects, tasks, sections, labels, and comments. Actionist runs a read-only test call to confirm the handshake before any scheduled agent tasks run.
What permissions does the agent need on my MeisterTask account?
For read operations (Find Task, Find Person, Find Label, Find Attachment) the agent needs read access to your MeisterTask account. For write operations (Create Task, Update Task, Create Label, Create Attachment) it needs write access as well. The OAuth flow requests both scopes together. If your organization uses SSO through MeisterTask Business or Enterprise, the OAuth handshake respects those identity settings.
Can I connect MeisterTask to other apps in the same workflow?
Yes. MeisterTask works best when combined with the tools where work is captured and reported. Common combinations: create tasks when issues arrive in a support inbox; update task status when pull requests merge in GitHub; post task completion summaries to Slack; sync new MeisterTask tasks to Google Sheets for reporting; trigger a task when a new row appears in a spreadsheet. Any of Actionist's connected apps can feed into or receive data from MeisterTask in the same workflow.
What are the most common things agents do with MeisterTask?
The four patterns that come up most often: (1) intake routing — converting inbound requests (emails, form submissions, support tickets) into properly labelled and assigned MeisterTask tasks automatically; (2) cross-tool sync — keeping tasks in MeisterTask aligned with records in a CRM, help desk, or spreadsheet; (3) status broadcasting — posting updates to Slack or email when tasks move through sections or reach completion; (4) scheduled reporting — pulling task counts by section or label on a cadence and writing summaries to a shared doc or dashboard.
How quickly do MeisterTask triggers fire in Actionist?
MeisterTask's webhook-based triggers fire within about a minute of the underlying event occurring — a new task is created, a checklist item is added, a label is applied, a comment is posted, or a new project is created. Actionist's agent picks up the webhook payload and begins the next steps in your workflow. Polling-based triggers (New Person, New Section) check for changes on a regular cadence rather than in real time.
How do I avoid creating duplicate tasks in MeisterTask?
Use Find or Create Task whenever the same task title might already exist — for example when processing recurring requests or syncing records from another system. The action checks for an existing task matching your search before creating a new one, returning the existing task if found. This prevents duplicate tasks from accumulating when the same event fires multiple times or when an upstream system retries a webhook.
Can the agent set due dates, assignees, and labels when creating tasks?
Yes. When you create or update a task via Actionist, you can set any of MeisterTask's standard task fields: name, description, due date, assignee (using a person ID from Find Person), section, status, and labels. If you need to attach a file to the task, use Create Attachment after creating the task — pass the file URL or Blob reference and the task ID.
Does Actionist work across all MeisterTask projects in my account?
Actionist's agent handles MeisterTask at the task, label, section, and project level. You can read and write tasks across any project the connected MeisterTask account can access. If your MeisterTask account is on the Business or Enterprise plan, the agent respects the access permissions of the connected user — it can only operate on projects and tasks that user has rights to view or edit.
