Deal-closed Slack celebration with contextual GIF

When a deal is marked Closed Won in HubSpot, the agent retrieves a G-rated celebration GIF from GIPHY and posts a full deal-closed announcement to #deals — the message includes the GIF, deal value, rep name, and company. The win is logged to the quarterly tracker. Zero manual effort; every win is celebrated within about a minute of the CRM update.

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    25 min / week
Manual GIF sourcing per deal notification

Reps open GIPHY, search for a celebration GIF, copy the URL or download the file, and paste it into the Slack message — adding 5 minutes to every deal-closed announcement.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
Agent retrieves and embeds celebration GIF in under a minute

When a deal closes in HubSpot, the agent searches GIPHY, retrieves the GIF URL, and includes it in the Slack announcement automatically — zero manual steps.

  • Marketing
    20 min / week
Manual GIPHY trend research before content planning

A content manager manually browses GIPHY's trending page, screenshots or copies URLs for relevant GIFs, and compiles notes before each planning session — taking 20 minutes weekly.

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
Agent delivers weekly trend brief before planning begins

Every Tuesday at 8:30 AM the agent fetches trending GIFs and posts a visual trend brief to #content-inspiration — the team enters planning with current data, not intuition.

  • Customer Support
    15 min / week
Manual GIF sourcing for support email templates

Support agents who want to include a GIF in resolution emails must visit GIPHY, search, and copy a URL each time — most skip the step entirely, resulting in purely plain-text closures.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
Agent appends brand-safe GIF to every resolution email

The support agent retrieves a G-rated thank-you GIF from GIPHY and includes it in the ticket resolution email automatically — every closure message has a human, visual touch.

  • Human Resources
    30 min / week
    Manual anniversary recognition GIF sourcing

HR opens GIPHY, searches for a celebration GIF, copies it, and writes a manual Slack message for each anniversary — taking 10 minutes per employee, with many milestones missed entirely.

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
Agent sources and sends unique anniversary GIF for each employee

When an anniversary is detected, the agent retrieves a unique random congratulations GIF and posts to Slack automatically — each employee receives a distinct visual celebration.

  • Finance
    10 min / week
    Plain-text financial milestone notifications

Financial milestone alerts are sent as plain-text Slack messages or emails — the win is communicated but not celebrated visually, reducing the cultural impact of hitting targets.

    Finance Agent
    0 min
Agent includes celebratory GIF in every financial milestone alert

When a budget target is hit, the agent retrieves a goal-achieved GIF and includes it in the milestone notification — making financial wins visible and celebratory without extra effort.

  • Operations
    15 min / week
Manual GIF sourcing for internal newsletter headers

The operations team opens GIPHY, browses for something current, copies the URL, and adds it to the newsletter template each week — taking 15 minutes and often skipped under deadline pressure.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent auto-sources newsletter header GIF from the trending feed

When a weekly newsletter page is created in Notion, the agent fetches a trending GIF and inserts it as the header — the newsletter opens with a culturally current visual every week, zero effort.

  • Legal
    20 min / week
Reactive GIF review in compliance communications

When a team member wants to include a GIF in a regulated communication, legal must review it reactively after the draft is complete — creating bottlenecks and delaying sends by hours.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
Agent pre-approves GIFs for regulated communications in advance

The legal agent searches GIPHY with G-rating filters and queues GIF candidates for pre-approval before regulated communications are drafted — the visual is ready and signed off before the message is written.

FAQs

Questions about GIPHY + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to GIPHY?
Go to the Apps tab in Actionist, find Giphy, and click Connect. You will need a Giphy API key from the GIPHY Developer Portal at developers.giphy.com. Register your Actionist app in the developer dashboard to receive a key, then paste it into the API key field. Actionist runs a test search to confirm the connection before any actions run.
Do I need a paid Giphy API key for business use?
GIPHY offers two API tiers: a free public beta key with rate limits suitable for testing, and a production key available to approved partners and developers. For business-critical use — for example, automatically embedding GIFs in customer communications at volume — apply for a production key at developers.giphy.com. The production key raises rate limits and grants access to content ratings controls and attribution requirements for commercial use.
Can agents embed GIFs directly into emails, Slack messages, or documents?
Yes. GIPHY actions return a direct URL to the GIF file along with a Giphy page URL and embed URL. Your agent can attach the direct media URL to emails, Slack messages, Notion pages, or Google Docs — any downstream app that accepts an image URL or embed link. Actionist does not host the GIF files; it retrieves the URLs from GIPHY and passes them into the next step of the workflow.
How do I ensure only brand-safe GIFs are returned for customer-facing content?
The GIPHY API supports content rating filters: G, PG, PG-13, and R. When you configure a Search GIF, Get Trending GIFs, or Get Random GIF action in Actionist, you can lock the rating parameter to G or PG to ensure only brand-safe content is returned. For internal team tools you may open this to PG-13, but for customer-facing communications the G or PG filter is strongly recommended.
What are the most common ways agents use GIPHY?
The most common patterns include: (1) team celebration messages — when a deal closes in your CRM, the agent searches for a relevant celebratory GIF and includes it in the Slack notification; (2) onboarding welcome emails — the HR agent retrieves a welcome-themed GIF to include in the new-hire email template; (3) social content enrichment — the marketing agent fetches trending GIFs on a topic before scheduling a post; (4) customer support humanisation — the support agent appends a relevant GIF to ticket closure messages. All retrieved via search or trending endpoints with a specific keyword.
Does using the GIPHY API require attribution or branding requirements?
GIPHY requires attribution for API usage — you must display the GIPHY logo or the phrase 'Powered by GIPHY' wherever GIFs sourced from the API are shown. This applies to both consumer and business integrations. Actionist surfaces the attribution requirement in the connection setup, but it is your responsibility to ensure the downstream destination (email, Slack, web page) includes the required attribution text or logo. See developers.giphy.com for the full attribution guidelines.
Can GIPHY be used as a trigger to start a workflow?
GIPHY does not currently offer webhook-based event triggers, so GIPHY connections in Actionist are action-only (read/search operations). There are no event triggers that fire when a GIF is favourited, shared, or viewed. If you need to react to GIPHY activity, use a scheduled agent task that polls the trending endpoint at a defined cadence — for example, a Monday morning check of trending GIFs in your industry vertical to inform the week's social content.
Does Actionist support GIPHY Stickers in addition to GIFs?
Yes. GIPHY offers a separate Stickers API alongside the GIFs API, and Actionist exposes both through the Search Stickers, Get Trending Stickers, and Get Random Sticker actions. Stickers are animated PNG-format overlays with transparent backgrounds, useful for adding branded overlays in messaging apps, digital signage content, or social video captions. The same rating filters apply to stickers as to GIFs.
