Proposal PDF ready when a deal advances

When a deal reaches proposal stage, the agent reads approved CRM fields, generates a Cloudlayer PDF from the proposal template, checks the generated asset, and posts the file for rep approval in Slack. The rep still controls the send, but the packet is already assembled.

How to plug Cloudlayer into Actionist

Pick the connection method that suits your environment.

Connect Cloudlayer with an API key stored as an Actionist secret. Agents use the key only when calling the Cloudlayer endpoints you approve.

1
Get a Cloudlayer API key

Create or copy your Cloudlayer API key from your Cloudlayer account.

2
Paste the key into Actionist

Open Cloudlayer in Actionist, choose API key, and paste the key into the encrypted credential field.

3
Test with a safe read

Run a read-only account or storage check so the agent can confirm the key works before generating files.

FAQs

Questions about Cloudlayer + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to Cloudlayer?
Use an API key. Cloudlayer's API examples authenticate with an X-API-Key or x-api-key header, so Actionist stores that key as a secret and uses it when agents call document, image, job, asset, account, or storage endpoints.
What can agents generate with Cloudlayer?
Cloudlayer can generate PDFs and images from raw HTML, public URLs, or reusable templates with JSON data. Actionist uses those API calls to prepare invoices, reports, certificates, screenshots, social images, sales packets, and other generated assets.
Does Cloudlayer provide triggers in Actionist?
No. The scrape for Cloudlayer has no real trigger events, so this page does not list Cloudlayer triggers. Agents can still call Cloudlayer from scheduled tasks or after events in other connected apps, such as a new CRM record, approved invoice row, or support handoff.
Can agents handle async Cloudlayer jobs?
Yes. Cloudlayer's v2 generation requests can be synchronous or asynchronous. For larger batches, Actionist can submit an async generation request, poll the Jobs API, and then retrieve the generated file through the Assets API or use the asset URL returned by Cloudlayer.
Can generated files be delivered to our own storage?
Yes, if the Cloudlayer request is configured for user storage. Cloudlayer documents S3-compatible storage configurations for AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, DigitalOcean Spaces, MinIO, Backblaze B2, Wasabi, and Cloudflare R2. Actionist can read or update that storage configuration through the documented API.
How much control do agents have over generation settings?
Actionist can pass URLs, HTML, template IDs, JSON data, filenames, async settings, webhook URLs, viewport options, and other supported Cloudlayer parameters. It does not design the business rules for you; it applies the parameters you approve to repeatable agent tasks.
What apps should I combine with Cloudlayer?
Cloudlayer is strongest when paired with source-of-record apps. Agents can read approved rows from Google Sheets, deal details from a CRM, ticket data from a support tool, or content from Notion, then call Cloudlayer to generate a file and place the result back into Slack, storage, or the originating system.
What should not be handled by Cloudlayer alone?
Cloudlayer is a document and image generation service, not a signature platform, payment processor, or long-term document management system. Use it to render assets; use your CRM, storage, finance, legal, or support tools to approve, distribute, retain, and govern those assets.
