Belake.ai is an AI-powered business intelligence platform that connects to your Data Lake and lets you query it in natural language. Instead of writing SQL or building dashboards, teams ask a question and receive structured data answers and visualisations. Connect Belake.ai to Actionist and your agents can send scheduled or on-demand questions to any configured Belake.ai agent, retrieve answers, and route them to Slack, Notion, Google Sheets, or any other connected app — turning recurring manual data pulls into fully automated scheduled agent tasks.

FAQs

Questions about Belake.ai + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to Belake.ai?
Go to the Apps tab in Actionist, find Belake.ai, and click Connect. Paste your Belake.ai API Key into the field — you can generate one from your Belake.ai account settings under API Access. Actionist runs a test call to confirm the handshake before any agent uses it. The key is stored encrypted and never exposed in logs.
What exactly is Belake.ai and what problem does it solve?
Belake.ai is an AI-powered business intelligence platform that connects to your Data Lake and lets you query data in natural language. Instead of writing SQL or building dashboards manually, you ask a question and the platform generates charts, insights, and visualizations. It also supports AI agents that can monitor your data continuously, surface anomalies, and push answers to Slack, Teams, or other channels.
What data sources does Belake.ai support?
Belake.ai connects to your existing Data Lake — whether that is Azure Data Lake, AWS S3-based data stores, Google BigQuery, or other supported connectors. You configure a Datasource in Belake.ai pointing at your data, and the platform uses that connection to answer natural-language queries. No data is copied or stored permanently in Belake.ai; queries run against your own storage.
Can Actionist send questions to a Belake.ai agent and get answers back?
Yes. Through Actionist you can use the Send Message to Agent action to submit a question to a specific Belake.ai agent and receive the answer back. The agent interprets the question in context of your configured datasource, generates the visual or structured response, and returns it. Actionist can then route that answer into a Slack message, a Google Sheet, a Notion page, or any other connected app.
What is a Belake.ai Agent and how is it different from an Actionist agent?
A Belake.ai Agent is a pre-configured AI entity tied to a specific datasource, language model, and set of instructions. You create agents inside Belake.ai for different departments or use cases — for example, a Finance Agent that knows your cost centre schema, or a Marketing Agent that understands your campaign data structure. Actionist can list all agents, retrieve a specific agent by ID, and send it messages to trigger analysis.
Can Actionist maintain a multi-turn conversation with a Belake.ai agent?
Actionist supports continuing an existing conversation thread in Belake.ai by passing the Chat ID when calling Send Message to Agent. This means you can build multi-turn data Q&A workflows — the first message establishes context (e.g. 'show me revenue for Q1') and a follow-up message (e.g. 'break that down by region') references the same chat, giving the model continuity. Without a Chat ID, each message starts a fresh conversation.
What language models does Belake.ai use and can I control the response language?
Belake.ai supports multiple language models and you can retrieve the list via Get Language Models. The model used by each agent is set during agent configuration inside Belake.ai. When you send a message via Actionist you can optionally specify the language for the response (the API supports language control per request), so non-English teams can receive answers in their preferred language without changing the agent configuration.
Can I automate recurring data reports using Belake.ai and Actionist?
You can build a scheduled agent task in Actionist that calls Send Message to Agent on a weekly cadence — for example every Monday at 8 AM — asking a standard business question like 'what were our top 10 products by revenue last week?'. The answer comes back within about a minute and Actionist routes it to your Slack channel, email, or dashboard. This replaces a manually-run report with a fully automated, natural-language-driven data digest.
