Weekly strategy P&L pulled to finance sheet before Monday review

Every Monday morning before the finance review, the agent lists active subscriptions, fetches 7-day performance data for each strategy, writes the P&L, win rate, and current drawdown to the performance sheet, and posts a digest to Slack — all without anyone logging into the AlphaInsider dashboard.

  • Operations
    75 min / week
    Manual pre-market bot health check

Before market open each day, someone on the ops team logs into AlphaInsider and checks every bot's status and broker connection, a 15-20 minute manual task five days a week — and easy to skip under time pressure.

FAQs

Questions about AlphaInsider + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to AlphaInsider?
Go to the Apps tab, find AlphaInsider, and click Connect. You will need an API key from your AlphaInsider account — go to Account Settings → API Keys, generate a new key, and enable at minimum the 'New Order Allocations' and 'New Order Webhook' permissions. Paste the key into Actionist and click Test connection. Actionist runs a read-only verification call to confirm the handshake before any agent actions are enabled.
What can Actionist agents actually do with AlphaInsider?
Agents can read live strategy performance data and trade history, monitor the health and connectivity of trading bots, retrieve subscription and allocation details, pull event timelines for audit and incident investigation, check stock quotes, retrieve payment and withdrawal records, and send order signals to configured bots via the AlphaInsider webhook endpoint. Most use cases fall into three patterns: monitoring (checking bot status, strategy performance, drawdown), reporting (writing trade logs and P&L to sheets), and signal routing (forwarding structured order signals from other tools into AlphaInsider).
Does Actionist hold or move my trading capital?
No. AlphaInsider is non-custodial — your capital stays in your own broker or exchange account at all times. AlphaInsider routes order signals to your connected broker; it never touches your funds directly. Actionist connects to the AlphaInsider API layer and similarly has no access to your broker account or capital. The only credentials Actionist stores are your AlphaInsider API key, which is used to read data and send webhook signals through AlphaInsider's own access controls.
Which brokers and exchanges does AlphaInsider support for automated trading?
For stock trading, AlphaInsider currently supports Alpaca (paper and live accounts). For crypto trading, it supports Binance and Bitfinex. The platform uses limited-permission API keys from your broker or exchange — you generate the keys in your broker account with restricted scopes (typically trade-only, not withdrawal), paste them into AlphaInsider during bot setup, and AlphaInsider routes signals to that account. Your broker credentials are never shared with Actionist.
Can I use Actionist to route signals from TradingView or an AI model into AlphaInsider?
Yes. The Send Order Webhook Signal action lets an Actionist agent forward a structured order signal to AlphaInsider's webhook endpoint, which then instructs the configured bot to place the trade on your connected broker. You can build a workflow where a TradingView alert, event, or an internal AI model output triggers the Actionist agent, which formats and sends the signal to AlphaInsider within about a minute of the source event firing. The API key must have the 'New Order Webhook' permission enabled.
How does Actionist help with regulatory compliance for automated trading?
Actionist agents can pull AlphaInsider's tamper-proof trade logs, strategy timelines, and subscription history into structured audit workbooks on a scheduled basis — building a quarterly compliance record without anyone manually exporting data. The legal agent can be configured to flag any strategy performance claims before they appear in investor materials, and to archive the full trade-history dataset at the end of each compliance period. AlphaInsider enforces that all strategy history is live-traded and cannot be deleted, backdated, or modified by the strategy creator, which makes the underlying data reliable for regulatory documentation.
What happens if a bot stops working or a trade is missed — can Actionist detect that?
Yes. The operations agent can run a scheduled pre-market sweep using List Bots and Get Bot to check every bot's broker connection and status before the trading session begins, posting a health summary to Slack. If a missed trade is reported, the support agent can call Get Timeline for the affected bot to pull the event log and pinpoint whether the signal reached AlphaInsider, when it was received, and whether the broker execution step was attempted — giving you the root cause without manual dashboard investigation. This typically narrows a missed-trade investigation from an hour to a few minutes.
Does AlphaInsider have real-time triggers that can push events into Actionist workflows?
AlphaInsider's primary integration model is polling and webhook-inbound (you send signals to AlphaInsider, not the other way). The platform exposes a WebSocket stream for live data, but Actionist's integration uses the REST API for reading data on a scheduled basis rather than a persistent WebSocket connection. For near-real-time monitoring, set up a scheduled agent task to check bot status and strategy performance at the cadence that fits your operations — every 15 minutes, every hour, or once at market open. For outbound signals (TradingView alerts → AlphaInsider), those are routed through the order webhook endpoint, which AlphaInsider processes within about a minute.
