Create, distribute, and update Apple and Google Wallet passes for your customers

MarketingAnalyticsEcommerceSupportAutomationPayments

Add To Wallet (addtowallet.co) is a no-code and API-first platform for creating, distributing, and managing digital wallet passes on Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Teams can build loyalty cards, membership passes, event tickets, coupons, gift cards, and boarding passes — then update them in real time as loyalty points change, deals expire, or seat assignments shift. Connect it to Actionist and your agents can create passes when new customers sign up, update loyalty points after every purchase, deactivate passes for churned members, and report on pass scan analytics — all without a developer touching the AddToWallet dashboard.

Loyalty pass issued and updated on every purchase

When a customer signs up, the agent creates a personalised loyalty pass and delivers the Add-to-Wallet link in the welcome email. 48 hours later it checks whether the pass was installed, and if not it sends a lock-screen push notification as a gentle nudge — without requiring the customer to open an email again.

What you do manually today

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    40 min / week
    Manual demo pass creation

Sales reps log into AddToWallet, create a pass manually for each prospect demo, and email the link by hand — 10 minutes per prospect, often skipped under time pressure.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
Agent creates personalised demo passes automatically

When a demo is scheduled, the agent creates a personalised pass and emails the Add-to-Wallet link before the rep has even confirmed the calendar invite.

  • Marketing
    45 min / week
    Manual pass scan reporting

The marketing team logs into the AddToWallet dashboard weekly, manually exports scan data per template, and builds a report in a spreadsheet — a 45-minute routine every Tuesday.

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
Agent delivers the weekly scan digest automatically

Every Tuesday at 8 AM the agent pulls scan analytics across all campaign templates and posts the ranked digest to the #marketing Slack channel before the planning meeting.

  • Customer Support
    32 min / week
    Manual pass lookup for disputes

Support agents log into AddToWallet to look up a customer's pass, manually check the scan log, and copy-paste the details into the helpdesk ticket — 8 minutes per dispute.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
Agent attaches full pass audit trail to each dispute ticket

When a dispute is flagged, the agent retrieves the full pass details and scan log and attaches a structured note to the ticket before the support agent even opens it.

  • Human Resources
    30 min / week
    Manual new-hire ID pass creation

HR logs into AddToWallet, creates a new employee ID pass for each new hire, and emails the link manually — a 15-minute task per hire that often runs behind schedule.

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
Agent issues passes from the HRIS before the first day

When a new hire is confirmed, the agent creates the digital employee ID pass and sends the Add-to-Wallet link to their personal email — all before the start date without any HR manual action.

  • Finance
    22 min / week
    Manual gift card balance reconciliation

Finance manually logs into AddToWallet, exports balance data for every active gift card pass, and cross-references it with the accounting ledger — a 90-minute monthly task prone to human error.

    Finance Agent
    0 min
Agent reconciles gift card balances weekly and flags mismatches

Every Friday the agent retrieves current balances for all gift card passes and compares them to the accounting ledger, flagging any discrepancy as an exception item automatically.

  • Operations
    30 min / week
    Manual pass template audit

Operations manually reviews the AddToWallet template list each month, checking for outdated branding or misconfigured expiry terms — a task that often slips for weeks at a time.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent audits all templates weekly and flags issues before passes are issued

Every Monday the agent lists all templates, checks their details for branding and configuration issues, and flags problems to the responsible team before any new passes are issued that week.

  • Legal
    20 min / week
    Manual promotional compliance check

Legal manually reviews each active pass template's terms against jurisdiction-specific consumer promotion regulations — typically done quarterly under time pressure before an audit.

    Legal Agent

FAQs

Questions about Add To Wallet + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to Add To Wallet?
Go to the Apps tab, find Add To Wallet, and click Connect. Actionist connects via an API Key that you generate inside your AddToWallet account under Settings → API. Paste the key into the field and click Test connection — Actionist runs a lightweight read call to confirm the handshake before saving. Once connected, your agents can create, update, and deactivate wallet passes, send push notifications, and pull scan analytics without anyone logging into the AddToWallet dashboard manually.
Which pass types does Add To Wallet support, and can Actionist handle all of them?
Add To Wallet supports six pass types: loyalty cards, coupons, membership passes, event tickets, gift cards, and boarding passes. Actionist can create, update, and deactivate passes across all six types using the same set of actions — the pass type is determined by the template you reference when creating the pass. You can have multiple templates for the same pass type, for example one loyalty card template per product line or per region.
Can I update a wallet pass on a customer's device after it has already been issued?
Yes — this is one of the strongest capabilities of the integration. The Update Pass Field action pushes a field change to the customer's already-installed pass. Their device receives the update within about a minute. Common use cases are updating loyalty point balances after a purchase, reducing gift card remaining credit, changing membership tier labels, or updating the expiry date on a renewal. The customer does not need to take any action — the pass on their phone just updates.
How do push notifications work — do customers need to install an app?
No app is required. Push notifications in Add To Wallet are delivered via the native Apple Wallet and Google Wallet infrastructure. When a customer installs a pass, their device registers for lock-screen notifications for that pass. When your Actionist agent calls Send Push Notification to Pass, the notification appears natively on the customer's lock screen — no separate push notification platform, no third-party app, no opt-in prompt beyond the initial Wallet installation.
What happens when I call Deactivate Pass — does the pass disappear from the customer's phone?
Deactivating a pass moves it to the customer's expired passes section in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet — it does not delete it entirely. The customer can still see that they had the pass, but it is visually marked as expired and cannot be scanned. This is useful for preserving a record of the relationship while making it clear that the pass is no longer active. If you need the pass to be completely removed, the customer must delete it manually from their wallet.
Can Actionist create wallet passes in bulk — for example for an event registration list or a seasonal campaign?
Yes. The Bulk Create Passes action creates multiple personalised passes in a single operation — each with its own name, unique barcode, and custom field values. This is the right approach for event attendee lists, new member cohorts, or seasonal coupon campaigns where you need hundreds or thousands of personalised passes issued at once. Each pass is unique, so redemption tracking and analytics are individual rather than shared.
How can I tell if a customer has actually installed their pass on their device?
Use the Get Pass Install Status action, which returns whether the pass has been installed and on which platform (Apple or Google Wallet). A common pattern is to schedule a check 48 hours after pass issuance — if the pass is not yet installed, the agent sends a Resend Pass Link or a push notification as a re-engagement nudge. The List Passes by Template action combined with install status checks across a cohort gives you an activation rate for any pass programme.
Does Add To Wallet support both Apple Wallet and Google Wallet in the same pass programme?
Yes — Add To Wallet handles both platforms from a single pass template and a single API integration. When a customer clicks the Add-to-Wallet link, AddToWallet detects their device and serves the correct format — a PKPass file for Apple Wallet or a Google Wallet pass for Android. Actionist's actions work at the pass level and abstract away the platform difference; when you call Update Pass Field or Send Push Notification to Pass, the update reaches the customer regardless of which platform they installed the pass on.
