Issue, manage, and verify digital credentials at scale

ProductivityAnalyticsHRAutomationCourses & LMS

Accredible is the world's leading digital credentialing platform — used by universities, professional associations, and training organisations to issue verifiable digital badges and certificates. Connect Accredible to Actionist and your agents can create credentials the moment a learner completes a course, update transcript evidence, search and audit issued credentials, and act on events like a new credential being published — all without a human touching the Accredible dashboard.

Compliance credential issued the moment training completes

When a learner completes a compliance training course, the agent checks for an existing credential, resolves the correct programme group, issues the certificate in Accredible, congratulates the learner in Slack with their badge link, and updates the compliance register — all within about a minute of the completion event. HR's manual issuance queue is eliminated for standard compliance completions.

With Actionist

What your agent runs for you

  • Sales
    80 min / week
    Manual partner credential issuance

Account managers log into Accredible, find the correct group, fill in partner details, issue the credential manually, copy the shareable link, and paste it into HubSpot — 10 minutes per partner onboarded.

    Sales Agent
    0 min
Agent certifies partners the moment they're added to CRM

When a new partner record is created in HubSpot, the agent resolves the correct group, issues the credential, and writes the shareable URL back to the CRM record — all within about a minute of the partner being added.

  • Marketing
    60 min / week
Manual expiry list export for renewal campaigns

The marketing team exports credential lists from Accredible monthly, filters for expiring records in a spreadsheet, deduplicates, and manually imports the list into the email tool — an hour each cycle.

    Marketing Agent
    0 min
Agent segments expiring credentials into renewal nurture automatically

Every Thursday the agent finds credentials expiring within 45 days, confirms each via Get Credential, and enrols holders in a personalised renewal sequence in the email tool — no list export or import needed.

  • Customer Support
    50 min / week
Manual credential lookup for support tickets

Support agents log into Accredible to check whether a credential was issued, copy the link to re-send, and manually update the ticket — 5 minutes per credential inquiry ticket.

    Customer Support Agent
    0 min
Agent resolves credential inquiries from within the support flow

When a 'missing credential' ticket arrives, the agent calls Find Credentials with the recipient's email, retrieves the shareable URL via Get Credential, and re-sends it — ticket resolved in under a minute without leaving Actionist.

  • Human Resources
    200 min / week
Manual compliance credential issuance each week

HR runs a weekly LMS completion report, filters for new completions, logs into Accredible, and issues each credential one by one — 4 minutes per credential, for a team of 50 that can mean hours each Monday.

    Human Resources Agent
    0 min
Agent issues compliance credentials automatically on completion

When a compliance completion row appears in the LMS report sheet, the agent checks for a duplicate, resolves the correct group, and issues the credential — 200 completions processed in minutes without HR touching Accredible.

  • Finance
    45 min / week
Manual credential count extraction for partner billing

Finance exports credential lists per group from Accredible at month-end, counts rows in a spreadsheet per partner programme, and manually enters the figures into the billing system.

    Finance Agent
    0 min
Agent pulls live credential counts for billing reconciliation

Every Friday the Finance Agent lists credentials per partner group from Accredible and writes the counts directly to the billing reconciliation sheet — invoices run from live data, not a potentially stale export.

  • Operations
    30 min / week
    Quarterly manual duplicate credential audit

Ops runs a manual duplicate check quarterly — exporting all credentials, grouping by recipient and group in a spreadsheet, and manually deleting duplicates in Accredible one by one.

    Operations Agent
    0 min
Agent sweeps for duplicates and cleans the register weekly

Every Wednesday the Operations Agent searches for duplicates across high-volume groups and calls Delete Credential on confirmed duplicates — the register stays clean week after week without a quarterly audit event.

  • Legal
    90 min / week
Manual licence expiry check for regulated roles

The legal team maintains a spreadsheet of regulated role holders, manually checks Accredible for each person's credential status before weekly regulated activities resume, and emails HR for any lapsed credentials found.

    Legal Agent
    0 min
Agent flags expired licence credentials every Monday before activities resume

Every Monday the Legal Agent checks all regulated role holders' credentials via Find Credentials and Get Credential, posts expired or near-expiry alerts to #legal-compliance, and updates the licence register — before the working week begins.

FAQs

Questions about Accredible Certificates + Actionist

How does Actionist connect to Accredible?
Go to the Apps tab in Actionist, find Accredible, and click Connect. You'll be asked for your Accredible API key, which you can find in Accredible Dashboard → Account Settings → API Integrations Settings. Paste the key into Actionist and click Test connection — Actionist runs a read-only check to confirm the handshake before any actions can run. The connection grants your agents access to create, read, update, and delete credentials and groups on your Accredible account.
Can agents issue credentials in bulk without me doing it one by one in Accredible?
Yes. A single scheduled agent task can issue credentials for an entire cohort — the agent iterates a list of completions (from a spreadsheet, LMS export, or CRM), calls Find Groups to resolve the correct programme group, and calls Create Credential for each recipient in sequence. A cohort of 200 learners that would take hours to process manually in the Accredible dashboard is issued in the time it takes the agent to run a loop.
What permissions does the API key need?
The Accredible API key you generate inherits the permissions of the account it belongs to. For full agent functionality (issuing, updating, deleting credentials, managing groups, and reading data) the key should be from an admin-level Accredible account. Read-only use cases like Find Credentials, Find Groups, and Get Credential work with any account that has API access enabled in the group settings. Check that 'Create Credentials in this Group using the Accredible API' is toggled on for any group you want agents to issue credentials into.
How do I avoid issuing duplicate credentials to the same recipient?
Use Find Credentials before every Create Credential call — pass the recipient's email and group ID to check whether a credential already exists. If the search returns a result, the agent skips the issuance and optionally re-sends the existing credential link instead. This idempotent pattern prevents duplicate records without needing a separate deduplication step. Actionist's Operations Agent also runs a weekly duplicate audit that catches any duplicates that slipped through and removes them via Delete Credential.
Can agents revoke a credential, and is the revocation immediate?
Yes — the Delete Credential action permanently removes a credential from Accredible. The revocation takes effect within about a minute: the credential's public verification page will no longer resolve, and the recipient's Accredible profile will no longer show the badge. Revocation is irreversible via the API — if you need to re-issue after a revocation, you must create a new credential. Best practice is to log every revocation in an external audit trail (e.g. Google Sheets or Notion) with the credential ID, recipient, reason, and authorising team member before calling Delete Credential.
Can I connect Accredible to my LMS or CRM in the same agent workflow?
Yes — Accredible works best when combined with the systems where completion events and learner records live. Common combinations: trigger credential issuance when a course completion row appears in Google Sheets or a completion webhook arrives from your LMS; write the credential shareable URL back to HubSpot or Salesforce contact records; enrol expiring credential holders in renewal email sequences; sync credential counts to finance spreadsheets for billing. Any of Actionist's connected apps can send or receive data alongside Accredible in the same agent workflow.
What triggers are available from Accredible?
Accredible exposes two webhook-based triggers in Actionist: New Credential Published (fires within about a minute when a credential is made public and shareable) and New Credential Created (fires within about a minute when any credential record is created, before it is published). Use New Credential Published to trigger social-sharing prompts or CRM updates; use New Credential Created to build an audit log or notify a manager. There is no per-group trigger — both triggers fire on account-level events across all groups.
How does Actionist handle credential expiry and renewal automation?
Actionist agents check expiry via the Get Credential action, which returns the credential's expiry date alongside its current status. Agents can be scheduled weekly to find credentials expiring within a defined window (e.g. 45 days) via Find Credentials filtered by date, then enrol those recipients in a renewal nurture sequence in your email tool or CRM. When renewal is confirmed, Update Credential can extend the expiry date without revoking and re-issuing — the credential's public URL and click history remain intact. For programmes that require full re-issuance on renewal, the agent issues a new credential via Create Credential after the old one is revoked.
